Haha, I thought you would love it!! I was having a discussion about the 1st division the other night - I actually prefer it to the SPL as it's more competitive and doesn't have the disguting Rangers & Celtic who upset my happiness greatly! The SPL is boooooooring as it's always one of the Old Firm who win and it's corrupt!!

Yes I will be at Firhill! I like it there! My friend used to live across the road when she was at Uni!
I stay down the road from it which is how i came about loving the jags!! Made for a great saturday afternoon out ... now am addicted! Also they have an awesome pie selection!! Btw your pies are expensive.... £2.10 for a macaroni pie...outrageous!

I agree though the 1st division is so much more interesting, This year will be tight, I reckon Dundee, thistle and queen of south will be the top 3!! Reckon Ross County will fall awy soon enough! SPL is little boring, it becomes a war of which OF team will win and the only people who actually care is them! ANd even when they do win they arn't happy!! Who you reckon will come down? I reckon Falkirk!! ah think we might have hijacked this thread with football chat!!

Haha, I refuse to eat pies! Scared they will be contaminated with meat! But I agree £2.10 is a lot for a "PEH"!!! I think Hamilton might come down - still raging at them having a plastic pitch in the SFL which was a clear advantage (how they won nearly every home game) and yet when they are promoted they have to go back to grass! ANNOYING!

We have Morton away on Saturday - but I am working, boooooooo!

did you like the score last night?

and oh are you a veggy? Well I am, and was on the jags forum and aked the guy in charge of catering if he could gurantee the pie as 100% veggy and he said ye so reassured me plus is so tasty!!! Thistles cheese and onion "peh" is awesome!!

lol nah think hamilton will get there act together and somehow stay up!hmm plastic pitch does seem a little unfair!! Don't know why just have sneaky feeling falkirk or possibly st mirren will go down!!

We got ayr on Saturday, think theres lot of anger from last week to get out and possibly win well heres hoping!

oh morton away is on my birthday aha shall see about going to that!!

I'm from Cornwall (and love it, love it, love it!!!!!) but currently live in Bristol in an awesome flat with 2 great girls (paediatric nurses) and 3 little ratties (Millie and Molly are very adventurous and cuddly, mandy is acopic about life!). I love being a vet nurse and was lucky enough to find a TP right after graduating uni (Zoology at Swansea). Currently locum HNV at Bristol Zoo covering maternity leave but just applied for a permanent job here is Bristol as loving the city life. Never thought I'd ever say that!!!!!

Always been obsessed with animals. As a child wanted to be a famous actress so I would be rich enough to buy a rainforest and save all the animals.................hmmm . Very close to my mum who lives in Cornwall with our newly adopted dog (Marley, approx 6 year old lurcher cross akita!). It took 24 years of begging to get one into the family and she says 'yes' 2 weeks before I move out!!! Miss the dog terribly but have a great landlord who likes animals, so she comes to visit alot. She is being assessed this week to become a Blue Cross Education dog, as my mum is a Blue Cross speaker .

Have worked in zoos and wildlife centres before qualifying. Worked in a great mixed practice (TP) in Cornwall before travelling in 2008 (so much fun!!!!) and since returning have been locuming (referrals, my friends practice on the Isles of Scilly, the zoo).

Out of work I suffer badly from itchy feet. Always like to be doing something, going somewhere. Love exploring, camping, hiking. I am godmother to my best friends 2 gorgeous little girls and love being crazy aunty sara!! Hang out with friends alot and currently making the most of living in a very vibrant and chilled out city. Sadly single, had my confidence knocked severely by last boyfriend, only just getting the 'mojo' back. Have recently met someone...........not sure might just turn out to be friends but he's fun to hang around with

'No worries' and 'Awesome!' are my favourite sayings and I love everything to be funky!!! Naturally a happy person and finally feel like life is heading the right way.

Thanks for everyone's advice recently and it's great reading all about you, virtual friends are equally as lovely to have as real ones!!

Im Louise, Im 26 and live in the beautiful High Peak. Darrel is my not so better other half! We've been together for almost 10 years and been engaged for 4. He's the love of my life and makes me smile every day We were planning on getting married next year but due to having neighbours we have put the plans on hold so we can move house instead.
Im also owned by Jack, my 7 yr old black lab cross who my friend thinks had learning difficulties , Tibbles my beautiful 17 yr old ball of fluff (dlh) who is ageing so fast and breaking my heart and Simba and Kiara, 8 yr old dsh sisters who despise each other!

I'm currently head nurse of a small animal hospital where I did my training. Was massively lucky to get my placement, nursing was all I ever wanted to do and despite my teachers trying to persuade me otherwise, managed to get an interview while I was still at school. I got offered the job and started 2 weeks after leaving, before I even got my results. I qualified in 2003 after doing block release at Myerscough which I loved. I did my assessor qualification a few years later and have really enjoyed training my students. In 2007 I left my current job to work in a mixed practice in a neighbouring town. I didnt really like it and really missed my old practice so after 5 months I came back!! The areas I enjoy most are medical, nutrition and nurse clinics, not a huge fan of theatre work or lab stuff.
In the future, when I dont have 2 full time students, I would like to do the diploma or top up for the degree. Though find the prospect of studying again a bit worrying!!

When Im not working or sleeping, (which isnt very often!!), I enjoy walking Jack, watching films, either snuggled under the duvet or at the pictures, spending time with family and friends (Darrels mostly, dont get on with most of mine!) and I love trashy tele (x factor, big brother, desperate housewives etc).
I'm godmother to my best friends 14mth old little boy, Charlie, who I love to bits. He is guaranteed to always make me laugh even on the days! Though he has made me really really broody }
Am currently battling to lose 3 stone and have just joined slimming world so am ever so slightly obsessed with recipes, food planning and syn values!

I may not lead a massively exciting life but it makes me happy. There isnt much I would change

Re: who are you?

congrats on recent engagement

Re: who are you?

Hi.
My name is Kerry I'm 31 and live in Manchester

Work Bio:-

I started nursing when I was 15 and had just left school (after being told by my careers officer that I wasn't clever enough to be a Veterinary Nurse!)

I've worked in small animal practices since 1994 around Manchester with a 2 year break in between where I worked at a vets in Staffordshire. I qualified in 2005 and have completed many home study courses since. I have an interest in small animal nutrition and I'm always on the look out to learn new things I gained my A1 qualification earlier on this year and enjoy teaching students in house. I'm head nurse where I am at the moment and work with a fantastic bunch of hard working people which makes the job all the more enjoyable.

Personal Bio-

I'm quite outgoing and opinionated and you can find me down my local pub most evenings enjoying a social pint after work.

I have 2 kitties and fish and somehow always end up taking in poorly bedraggled strays from work ,

I have a few hobbies, Gardening, Outdoorsy stuff like hiking, camping, music. I love rock and heavy metal and am always going to gigs and so far I've done 6 festivals this year!

I was somewhat of a regular on the old Vetnurse and visit daily here on the new site.

What a good idea this thread is.

I have posted a few times when I feel I can help!

Im Donna, 28 (just!) living in North Yorkshire and work in a Mixed Practice. unfortunately only do small animal now due to a knackered back (thought I was invincible in my earlier days and now paying the price)

I have worked in the Veterinary profession since 15yr old on work experience, then unable to find a training practice I did the National Diploma in Animal Care at Myerscough College

I luckily found a TP qualified in 2003 having done my training at the RSPCA hospital in london,I then moved back to the countryside 5 years ago and have been in the same job ever since.

I qualified as an assessor in March this year and really enjoying training the students

Im currently single with my own house and have recently rehomed a beautiful red & white Collie (maybe crossed with spaniel??) we are still getting to know each other but she is fab!

Im originally from the lakes and grew up on a dairy , beef and sheep farm, my dad has just retired and miss it soooo much, I will eventually be a miserable old spinster with acres of land and have lots of sheep!

I have 2 sisters, one of which has a daughter whose 3 and I love been 'naughty Auntie D' her words not mine!

In my spare time I enjoy walking Cocoa, socialising and shopping!

xx

Re: who are you?

Hi! I plan to start posting more on here, so might aswell post here!

I'm Chris and I'm 21. I only got into nursing in June, before that I did several animal management/behaviour courses at Bishop Burton College over 5 years. Still interested in the behaviour side of things and hope to do that aswell as nursing eventually.

I have a dog, a cat and 7 mice. I'd love to have ratties but i'm allergic to them =( I'd also love to get a puppy, maybe an english bull terrier. Wouldn't mind some bearded dragons aswell, they're so adorable

I'm obsessed with many things... music, films, tattoos, twilight, transformers, animals lol My fave music is metal. Especially love Rammstein and Avenged Sevenfold.my fave films are horror and action films (hate chick flicks >_<). Really love District 9 atm! I love watching tv series, like House, Scrubs, FlashForward, Lost, Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd.

I currently have 7 tattoos (pawprints on each wrist, star on the back of my neck, shark on lower back, leopard print on left arm and tribal and a ying-yang on the right arm). I'd love to have more. I have my ears pierced twice each and used to have my lip pierced but got rid of that when I started this job.

Anyway, want to know more, just ask. My brain has just seems to have died atm lol

Re: who are you?

Hi,

Im Tracy. I'm 32 and just started NVQ2 at MYF Training in Aldershot. I work at Ash House in Aldershot but live some 40 miles away in Fareham.

Previous to becoming an SVN I worked in telesales selling pet insurance as well as a manager for Pizza Hut.

Im an insulin dependant diabetic and my work colleauges call me a Tracylopedia due to my knack of remebering stupid facts from tv shows I watch.

Im a huge Stargate SG1 fan (almost anything stargate related really lol)

My pets are 4 cats called Newt 6y tabby and white with IBS, Spirit 5y black and white cat, Toby (my avatar pic) who is 18 months and comes every where with me except college as he has a knac of knowing when I am going to hypo before me and Spud my 12 week old hand rear kitten.

I have 3 rabbits called Bunny-baggins, Molly and Maisey and a 56 year old spur thight tortoise called Spike.

I live with my partner and his parents due to his messy divorce and I am hoping once qualified we will be able to get a place of our own.

I my interestes are in emergency work and I hope to look in to doing some thin g like Vetsnow when I have qualified.

Im a bit of a computer geek and currently on the 5th rebuild of my home pc all of which I have done myself and I am always online as this forum is so addictive that I leave my browser open on it most days.

I was inbetween jobs when I looked at my CV 4 years ago and thought about which job I enjoyed the most having done a year in veterinary practise when I was 18 and decided that was a career that I wanted to do. Like many of you on here it took about 3 years to find a TP and then I really was hooked. Things had changed since I was younger and I am really enjoying my job and going to college it's one of the best choices I have made.

Thanks to all you guys that have helped me out on the forums and look forward to many more rewarding conversations as I get to know you all.

Take care

I've worked in various different locations around the country to gain experience and locummed along the way. I am now head nurse in a cat only practice and love it and living back in the sunny North East!

I'm owned by 3 cats - Boris and Mable are now 18months and were feral when I rescued them, Zippy is 9 and is the result of an accidental mating between a Persian and a Siamese. I'm also currently hand rearing 'Grub' who is 1 week old today who will no doubt join my clan.

I also own 2 (nice and well behaved) westies, Jack who is 7 and Millie who is 3

In my spare time I enjoy music, films, figure skating, gym (ahem) and socialising, oh and consuming alcohol

I love 24, Scrubs, X Factor, the soaps, Flash Forward, Top Gear, plus numerous other TV shows.

I live with my best friend and am currently converting her to the wonders that are cats (she's always been a "dog person")

I'm outgoing and easygoing and what you see is what you get. I'm friendly and approachable but also opinionated, however I always listen to, and respect others' opinions too.

I've met some great friends on here and wouldn't be without them. I'm currently one of the 'Top 10 Contributors' on here so you'll probably see me pop up regularly, usually rambling on about nothing or being totally dizzy

Re: who are you?

Hello

I am 31 years old. Started vet nursing in 1998. I have lived in various places. I grew up in County Cork in Southern Ireland and moved to Nottinghamshire when I was 10. I always planned to go into Theatre Design and everything I did was performing arts orientated except I worked as a Polo Groom part-time. After I did my A levels I had a bit of a blip and changed direction & went to uni in South Wales and did Animal Science. After graduating I started vet nursing there before moving back to Nottingham with my Welsh boyfriend where I bought a house and did all of my VN training. I moved to PDSA and really enjoyed it and stayed in the charity sector for years after that working at various PDSA sites and also an RSPCA clinic. I moved to Bristol ( which I loved ) in 2005 but after splitting up with my boyfriend and meeting my current boyfriend I moved to Manchester. I enjoy Manchester but don't like it as much as I liked Bristol but I think a lot of this is because I left some great friends behind in Bristol and have found it harder to meet new like minded people here.

I have one dog, Lupin, a mad and lovely Border Collie and four beautiful indoor cats. I also have two fish and a large red eared Terrapin who all live in the garden pond. The terrapin is approx 20 years old and called Ivan and I acquired him when I was locuming in a practice in Oldham and he came in as a stray.

I am leaving full-time Vet Nursing in March 2010 to start uni and do Adult Nursing. I plan to still work part-time regularly as an RVN as well as locuming in the holidays.

I have two BMX which ( despite my crappy sciatica and back probs ) I still manage to get out on although am less adventurous in throwing it about than I used to be. I really enjoy genealogy and am researching friend's family trees as well as my own.

My long term goal is to move to a more rural location and have a bit of self sufficiency . I would love to move back to the South West to either Cornwall or Somerset or go Northerly to Scotland ..which given my boyfriend is Scottish is more likely If I had lots of money I would go back to the South West Irish coast. Our current plan is to try to look at geting debts paid off and reducing the mortgage and ideally moving to the West Coast of Scotland or to the Isles. Right waffling on now

Re: who are you?

ok so i know i have written on the newbie one of these but here goes anyway............

Hi, im Sally!

Im 26 (eek when did that happen??) and i live in Cheshire. I work for a large veterinary group that owns alot of pratices in Cheshire. Im work in one of the smaller branches and we have a fantastic team . I started out on reception in our very busy hospital (STRESS!!!) and eventually was given the opportunity to do some nursing at a different surgery. i have been nursing for 2.5 years now and love it! I have wanted to be a vn for as long as i can remember. Currently doing my ANA and am waiting to see if i have been successful in my application for a trainee back at our hospital.

I have an amazing boyfriend who i have been with for nearly 2 years. We cannot afford our own home at present but are lucky enough to have our own bedroom, lounge and bathroom at my parents house. It enables us to be together and save up some money to get our own place. Im obsessed with weddings! My poor poor boyfriend hears nothing else from me!

We have a little Chihuahua called Oscar who is about 15months old. My boss bred him and no one wanted him so she said i could have him. He is like our child, he gets treated like one anyway! I had my own pony for several years, the cheekiest pony in the world. Cant tell you the amount of times he nearly killed me with his antics!!

I love the Foo Fighters, Johnny Depp and am currently loving the Seth Rogan/Jonah Hill films that keep coming out. I own a million pairs of shoes and about 3 million dresses (i love to shop). I have a tattoo of a horse on my back which i love, horses will always be in my life now .

Im generally quite shy but if somethng ticks me off i will tell you straight. Short girl syndrome you see, im only 4'11"!!

Well thats me................

Re: who are you?
