What about breakdown cover - RAC/AA/green flag.

I tried to add my daughter to RAC but the next price they supply is for four perople(family). I already have my husband on the policy and wanted to add just one more. But they only quote for two!

comparison web sites are the best iv got years of no claims & hate to say it direct line were the most expensive quote, look around then ring the cheapest & see what they can do, got our insurance down over £100 on quote on line when phoned & queried this, keep looking

I'm with Sheila's Wheels too. Never had any problems in the 3yrs I've been with them and I check the comparison sites every time my renewal is due but they still come out best for me for my age/level of cover etc.

Thanks guys, you have all been very helpful and forthcoming with your ideas

I havent yet had a chance to get any quotes yet - call it being a very busy single mum to 2 children, 6 dogs, 3 ducks, a rabbit, 2 goats, 3 cats and 2 budgies hehehehehe

I am not working tomorrow so plan to do it then

I'm with Shelia's Wheels. Always come up with decent quotes, only problem is they would not cover my daughter as they dont cover women under 19yrs.

We are with churchill have made 2 claims both excellent. We use a brokers they know small print we may miss. And do not go for cheapest but for the one that provides what we want.

I use direct line, they are not on comparison websites though but do very good rates, I renewed with them in May and pay monthly direct debit, they do add APR but it still worked out alot cheaper than my last insurance, its dead easy to get a quote online. Have found out that they also do a very good pet insurance that I have just taken out too

If you go on www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk and follow his rules about car insurance, then you can save yourself a fortune. Last year I saved £175, this year I've done it again and saved about £50 - for some reason, got a newer, smaller car & my insurance went up????? Reason - changed to petrol!!!!

I would definatley recommend Direct Line, I have used moved over to them and it was cheaper to have fully comp rather than third party fire and theft. and they are really helpful and nice!

I go thru th AA (Im a member) and they have about 20 different companies, at least, to chose from.... they act as a broker... they just look for the best deal and send you the quotes.... it's easy, I don't have to mess around, you can pay monthly if you want..... It might be worth giving them a ring

Has anyone else on here found it really irritating that hardly any car insurance companies recognise veterinary nurse as a job?!

I find they either offer veterinary assistant or "nurse" without the veterinary.

Either way I always click "professional" for employment catergory

Tesco were cheapest for me the last two years and do have some good deals on sometimes. Last year I got a free karcher pressure washer (worth £100) and this year I got a cheaper quote with direct line but got a £40 tesco voucher to make up the difference and stuck with them.
Have used direct line and admiral in the past and always found them reasonable.

I'm with churchill their quite cheap, i'v put my dad down as a second driver on my insurance and that lowered it loads, (i had a brand new car and wrote off my last one was looking v expensive) my dad dont mind and dont drive my car but its there if he wants it they allow monthly direct debit mine works out at £25 a month on a 58 fiesta

I'm not sure because I pay mine in one go but I couldn't see why not! I thought most insurance companies let you pay monthly?
