Spam mail is usually from you posting your email like so: josmith@aohell.com or signing up to unprotected webpages, Myspace and Facebook are two killers. if you type your email as josmithATaohell.com it will reduce this. also every time you search google bots check your IP and then do the same thing connecting your email address and then send out the mails. the other thing that causes spam is having a cookies tracker or adware on your computer. AVG and some other free programs do no detect all of these nor to they prevent them, in fact AVG and some Adware Blockers can even put them on your computer!

I have a spam filter that puts them directly in my spam box, i check them once a day and delete them or report them so they will be blocked completely before they get to my mailbox next time. I don't have any spam on my BT account or gmail account only on my tiscali and yahoo account.
