Oh no...that's a real shame. Don't give up. If you love a job you should be persistent until you get it. Job satisfaction dosen't come to many people. Just keep on sending out your cv's and following up with a phone call as well as looking at the available opportunities. Not all practices advertise. Just mail them all. excellent news, these places are like gold dust and it's wonderful that they are happy to keep you on......good to hear you are a valued member of their team.

wish I'd been able to keep my SVN place, as I am now close to giving up nursing altogether..........

Hey Guys,

I went back to work today. It was all good. Everybody was lovely and completely understanding. They appreciated the card and choccy bics too. Thanks everybody for making me feel better about this. I'm so lucky to have this position. I'm really grateful that it's all worked out well today.

Hope everything goes well for you, I know exactly how you feel, I have been through a similar situation recently myself. i would be worried too, but thats just because you care. I think a card would be a nice gesture, but if your colleuges are nice they will be understanding. Hope you feel better soon x

My new employer waited 7 weeks for me to recover from a broken ankle and start with them. They were fab about it. Hope yours will be as good. x

I think I will. I'll talk to our practice manager. She's the one who i think would appreciate it more and maybe relate my worries to the others as she's the one covering me for this weekend.

Aww bless, you. Have a chat with your head nurse or something. Explain you feel really bad about it, but its not something you can do anything about.

I went back to work after an op, 4 weeks after major surgery. I wasnt supposed to do any heavy lifting for six weeks after and they were really understanding, and helped me whenever i needed it. they didn't hold it against me at all as i had been so honest, and i made myself helpful in all the areas i could.
