Well since l discovered crocs l used them almost all of the last l think 2 or 3 winters but l do have some woolly boots for if it gets very cold. I use socks in bed and around the house tend not to wear them with anything else though, hate it if they get wet.

It is not the bottom of my feet that get cold or really the top of my feet it is my toes. Although hub won't let me near when l get into bed as he says l am like a huge iceberg from bottom of the feet upwards and disagrees with my comments. To me though foot wise other than toes l do not really feel the cold on them.

Oh and l have some slippers but l usually forget to use them.

Caro , what do you do in the winter?

As for the piercings..... ask your employer first, I had a nose piercing years ago and mine did not mind and there are still a couple at work who have them, but it depends on the employer I suppose, and also health and safety.

Wish the barefoot one would go away. Hub and l had yet another argument over it the other day. I do barefoot he doesn't agree with it, so far neither of us has killed the other however l have come close a couple of times.

i wouldnt hesitate to take on anurse with facial peircings but the management aren't as keen so feel that you ask employers, i have a tattoo on wrist & pink hair & thats not an issue

Hi Stella,

I agree with Fi - it wouldnt stop me employing a good nurse - so long as it wasnt a big massive lip piercing

I would also run it past any prospective employer first of all, just in case.

No nail varnish is standard i think - but where i've worked and do work people have been wearing earrings, even those with lots of ear piercings in different places, and also rings. Thanks for your input. x

I'd check with them first, always nice to be courteous and include them in any possible situations that could affect them.

There's the Health and Safety risk to consider - could an animal grab it and get a claw behind and rip it out if you got too near?

A lot of animal places I did work experience in wouldn't allow rings on fingers, earrings, nor even nail varnish....

Personally, I don't like facial piercings but it wouldn't stop me from employing a good nurse that had one! I think if they're small and unobtrusive then fine but the really big ones would make me shudder!
