The pup has travelled twice with one of it litter mates and was fine. So I dont think it is a car issue. She has also sat the pup in the car without moving and it was fine. But when the cage is in the car with the intent of bringing it to work, the pup starts dribbling as soon as it sees the cage.

Why does the collar need to be a snug fit? Is it a problem if it is slightly lose.
Yes, it is very important. If the collar is not warm it will not release the pheromone. It should be snug. That may well be the problem.

Yes, I would agree. If you have tried treating the stress and it is still happening it may be that the dog is motion sick rather than fearful of travel. What do you think?

This is what binds to certain brain receptors to alleviate stress and produce a more calming influence. You can give it short term if the apparent stress is likely to be a one off, or longer for issues like fireworks.
Bad news about pups leg. Fractured radius and ulna. Did a pinning this morning. She is such a darling.

I have never been so worried about a GA. Strange when you know the owner is part of the practice staff. She said she knew she was in good hands. But her mum is always there to make you feel better if you are doubting yourself.

Still, everthing went well. Post-op x ray looked very good. At that age it should heal quickly.

Back to the travel problem. She is fine in the car that is not moving. Has a cage inside car which she loves. I think it is a confidence problem. Her mum has 4 other poodles and she is happy if she is with another dog inside the cage, but not if they are caged beside her.

Re: travel distress
