I have been asked to put together a list of things we could discuss with clients as a group. Sort of like CPD for clients.

So far I have thought of diabetes, renal failure, thyroid problems, obesity, rabbit nutrtion/husbandry and then the same

Re: client education

[quote user="STRVN"]Personally i would not be picking a subject, for subjects sake.......... I would be trying to identify what you hav a lot of client wise within your practice....ie if you happen to have a lot of diabetic cat owners, or rabbit owners etc and gear the talks towards those subjects. There is no point IMO in having a talk if its not going to be well attended. Possibly send out flyers to the diabetic patients for instance and ask if they would be interested.

You dont have to restrict your talks to a set list, you may have had a lot of pancreatic cases... you know like pancreatitis season.. when something like that happens as we all know we always seem to get a run of things like that, then grasp the opportunity and do a talk on that. Maybe even incorporate the talk with a practice tour, let the public see what goes on behind the scenes....obv not on a working day, but you get the jist.

Good luck with it

Re: client education

always, but ALWAYS harrass the reps of associated products - they may just be willing to speak / give freebies / refreshments

Re: client education

Thanks guys, as always a wealth of knowledge and ideas

Re: client education

Debbie Grant is the Boeringer pain person

Re: client education

The last place i worked did arthritis and it was really well attended.
