However, her bone density was very poor (which we assume was due to a poor diet) and it was likely the healing process wouldnt be successful.

But, for some reason, unknown to us, her owner decided he didnt want her anymore and signed her over to us although that seems sad, if he couldnt look after her well enough, them I'm glad she is no longer with him. She is grey and really pretty,

And yes, the fracture repair wasnt successful - she had her hind leg amputated today

The good news though is that she is going to Dogs Trust for rehoming. At least this lovely girl will get a second chance at life.

Re: Things always come in three's

No! Yet another extremely busy 12hr day!

Im not use to two 12hr days in a row , with out lunch or breaks. thats something I use to do 20yrs ago.

Feel a little sorry fior our clients, have not had time to do insurance claims yet.

Tomorrow looks better- Only two eye cases + ECG at moment. I wonder if I will see the third eye!

Re: Things always come in three's

Its not just us then!
Im happy with the knowledge I gained while studing - It was a while ago now (I was one of the first year that did the diploma. Best bit was spending two weeks at Potters Bar learning all about and handling Large Animals. I can now 'throw a sheep' like the best of farmers!

Re: Things always come in three's

Thank you eghambc! Its hard going!

What a shame that you got so far with the diploma - will you pick it up again?

Not sure what we have in tomorrow - we were too busy to check today!!

Re: Things always come in three's

Good luck with your porfolio Freckle. God it was years ago when I qualified and I had do to a dissentation on Demodex! Did a Portfolio for diploma but never took the exam! Was pregnant with my daughter at the time.

Well I for one am looking at a busy day with no lunch again tomorrow , Why dont I lose weight?

Re: Things always come in three's

I think there is definatley something going on lol!!

We are usually just routine too, which is why it is so wierd that we have had a sudden influx of complicated cases! And goodness knows how many ex-laps over the last week, when we usually see one every couple of months!

Hoping tomorrow is a bit quieter so I can do some portfolio hehe!

Re: Things always come in three's

Weird!

Do you think someone out there wants to keep us occupied!

I miss the critical cases as we do maining routines here. My nursing skills do get a little rusty at times. Not so my cleaning skills though!

Re: Things always come in three's

We have been really busy the last week or so too! Bizarre! Especially when we were sooo quiet a few weeks ago!

We have had no end of emergencies and critical medical cases - everyone in the practice has been working overtime!
