think you have to put them in pharmacutical waste - ie bottles etc (and syringes that have done anything BUT taken a blood sample)

We put our OOD drugs in clinical waste which is incinerated. Is this no longer allowed?

yep, thats true!! batch numbers have to be recorded now on a patients file .. and OOD meds have to be disposed of in the correct way.. tabets in a denature kit (think injectabes too?) - ours get sent to somerlease pet crematorium.

thats such a shame - so many drugs get wasted either for being OOD or for not having breaching dates recorded (injectables obv)

Things have changed a lot since last year, since we all need to keep track of batch numbers etc now for legal purposes, I think short dated drugs would be fine but OOD would be illegal now

As for the legal side...Like I say, I attended a lecture at congress and they asked for drugs there so there must be a way around it.

This is a charity based in ecuador which i have volunteered at for a few months last year and are desperate for drugs to treat the many sick and injured animals they get there.

If you can sent any drugs over there they would be so grateful.

There are lots of these types of projects available, you could contact http://www.wvs.org.uk as they deal a lot with these and may put the drugs to good use!
