Well i've got to the end of the week, phew. Thank god for that. Am working tonight though, have two inpatients on IVFT = very little sleep for me! Last check at 12, next at 3 then up again at 6...i already feel like a zombie. I sat in a kennel with the EBT inpatient earlier...he laid on me and fell asleep! Hmm perhaps i should sleep in there with him!

Damn i have a sore tongue, got an ulcer on it owwww

Hoping next week will be better than the last.

ooohhh - i have just started 2nd year and we haven't done gloving of any sort yet!

I always get in a tangle when I scrub in though! Kiiinda know the method thru observation.... but have only once done it without tangling!

But hey! Its better than when I first started when gloves were only (and then rarely) used for orthopaedic ops! Yay for gloving! Now if I can just get the vets at work to scrub up for a full 5 mins (and not try and stop me 2 mins into op-site scrub!)

I practiced again the college today, was more successful this time! Thanks for the tip of tying up more, that will help! The gown i was using was big, but think they're all the same size at work. I'm just going to practice and practice until i'm perfect!

Make sure your gown is the right size for you and tie it quite tight at the back. Lots of people only tie the top one, and then the gown starts falling all over the place & mixing people up. Also if practising at home, use a cardigan on back-to-front for more realistic gown than just a sweater

That is odd! I managed it ok with my jumper sleeves, but with gown sleeves it was much harder!

When i was doing it at college the other day i said 'my thumb is in the wrong place'...response from Belinda the lecturer, Vicky do you mean anatomically wrong?! Teehee! That will be my excuse in my exam, sorry i can't do it cos my thumb is anatomically wrong!

The portfolio will def keep me occupied. Want to get it asap! Then plenty of time for exam revision...practicals argh!!!! Was practicing closed gloving at work this week...got a bit tangled!

Its not easy when you feel like that but its good you have your portfolio to get stuck into. You just never know what jobs might come up in the future.

Yep that is def the case! It's a shame cos it used to be a lovely place to work. Ah well i can't change it back so will just have to get on with it and hope time flies by!

I'm really hoping things will improve at some point soon but don't know if they will. I've had enough of crying about work now. I spend so much of my life there i want to like it.

I speak to people at work, but we're all in the same boat! And speak to college, parents, people on here, bvna, everyone really! Just needed to have another whinge on here after crying again today.

I will be the happiest person on this earth when i get that letter to say i am a VN

I'm sorry to hear you are not happy at work. We all go through phases of being unhappy at work, but they almost always pass, depending on the circumstances of course.

Is there anyone you can speak to about the work problems?

As you say - roll on next year when you qualify
