I SHOULD have had 6 kids starting at the age of 12, claimed benefits, got a nice council house and lived for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

BUT...

Instead I worked my ass off, got a few qualifications that nobody recognises in the real world and get taxed through the fricken eyeballs on a daily basis... along with a daily barrage of abuse from other 'so called' members of the human race. (some people wonder why I'm homicidal)

OK on a more serious note I have a few hobbies but don't honestly think I could have turned them into earning a decent living for myself. So the answer to the original question is I don't really know where or what I would be doing if I wasn't nursing

l would probably love to work in a library. Even better the mobile library. I would also love to drive an artic what puts me off is seeing these guys reversing round in places a mouse has trouble getting, everyone says with training you could do it but l just do not have that confidence

At the end of the day would prefer self emp. so l can still do time off when l want and not answer to anyone but me n hub.

never had a proper back up plan as always thought/knew I was going to be a nurse but ideas I have had have been, midwife, beautician, social care.Anything but an office job I think.

Hmm i'm not really sure. Training dogs for disabled or something like that sounds interesting.

i would still love to study and do forensic science but vet nursing has always been my dream job! i love it......well, most of the time

Hmmm, the $55,000 question.

If I had my time again I'd be a dentist. Before I went into nursing I looked into studying things like parapsychology and graphology. I think I'd try and do something with those.

For now, I'd quite like to get married and have babies. Tee hee

you know I dont really want to leave, i would prob seriously consider going into practice management where I could still do a touch of nursing every now and then.

I've been a good girl for the past few weeks and got everyone else to do the lifting etc so we shall see what a week off does for me, then only got 4 days back next week then I'm off for a fortnight so we shall see

I have absolutely no idea what I would do if I wasnt nursing. It's all I ever wanted to do, I never had a back up plan.Can't imagine doing anything else

aw Steph, dont think about leaving nursing - there are other opportunities like head nurse, practice management, drug rep etc etc. I dont think you really want to leave, though I know your injuries cause you bother. Maybe you could refrain from lifting those big animals - let someone else do it for a change.

If I hadnt been a VN I would have been a lawyer or solicitor

I always said I would be in the police force if I wasn't a VN. I think I just want to be able to chase bad guys in high speed chases
