&lt;p&gt;My dog is 13 on Wednesday and although she&amp;#39;s healthy at the moment, I dread the day I have to make the decision to say goodbye. I know we see it everyday but when it&amp;#39;s your own dog it&amp;#39;s a completely different matter. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Remember the good times and don&amp;#39;t feel guilty. It&amp;#39;s the kindest and most&amp;nbsp;selfless thing you can do. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I know its&amp;nbsp;hard, but you know your heart of hearts that you are doing the kindest thing for him.&amp;nbsp; His pain and suffering will be no more.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The last act of kindness and love we can do for our pets is to let them go peacefully and when they still have some dignity left.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I wish you well for tomorrow and I really hope you find the strength to get through this, knowing there was nothing else you could have done.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Use this evening to spend some quality time with him and spoil him - though I am sure you do that already.&lt;/p&gt;

I went through the same thing a while back. Like Caro said, if you know in your heart it&amp;#39;s the right thing then it is the right thing. I think there&amp;#39;s no greater thing we can do for our four legged friends than to end pain and suffering when the time is right. &lt;/p&gt;
