It was a fantastic time, i was driving, my bf had a few beers. On the way home we were talking about what every1 had been saying, having a laugh, we were buzzing.
Then knocked something

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

Don't be too hard on yourself--you did the right thing to stop and try your best to identify the kitty. I hope that you're feeling better very soon! I once hit a deer--it was so terrible! It ran off and we chased it down. It was badly injured but could still run so we couldn't catch it :( Called the RCMP (this was in Canada) but they wouldn't help us. I felt terrible for ages wondering whatever became of it :(

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

well my mum is a vet and im a vet nurse but my mum ran one of my cats over once! very upsettin x

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

I was being driven home by my boyfriend and a cat ran under his car... he stopped and I ran off after it. I found it on someone's lawn, it had died :( I went to the door asking if they knew who's it was, turned out it was theirs. There were two young boys and one started crying and I was nearly in tears myself! The owner was really really nice though, I apologied about a hunderd times and he just said accidents happen, it's not your fault, and thanks so much for stopping because most people wouldn't have. :(

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

When I was at college, I couldn't sleep one night so went out for a run. Went onto slip road for motorway and ran over a bunny. COuldn't leave it there so drove off next slip road back onto motorway to get back to first slip road to make sure it was dead. Checked the bunny...yep definitely dead....got back into car & drove off again....this time knocking over 2 more!! Didn't go back that time

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

Oh dear, that's such a shame for you - I know how bad I would feel. I once killed a baby rabbit and saw it's brothers and sisters by the side of the road, the guilt was awful. It's something I worry about quite a lot when driving, especially worry about deer when driving down country roads with forest on each side.

At least you did the decent thing by picking the cat up, a lot of people would have just left him or her there

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

Poor you, it's horrible when that happens.
as was said earlier at least when u get in contact with the owner they will know what happened to their cat, so many people never find out what happens to their animals that go missing, even if their animals are chipped.

another thing to remember is that some heartless people dont even stop when they clearly know they have hit something, these are the people who should be ashamed, not the responsible people like you..

Re: I knocked over a cat ...........

aw Les, I feel really awful for you. What a horrid thing to happen.

It wasnt your fault - it was an accident and please dont blame yourself.
