Debt isn't fun and I know that after spending the summer skint but you will get through it, just takes time. The fights with your husband will stop once your home! Don't worry things will come bk together!

He's running up debts galore. He's not pulling his weight at home, probably cos he's depressed, we fell out seriously last time I was home cos he questioned my medical ability to deal with a chinchilla problem and even questioned official idexx results as them not knowing what they were talking about)!
We're broke, can't pay the mortgage, can't afford to repair the roof because the money he was meant to save for it, he spent in about 6 weeks drawing out money after he lost his job, we can't now even afford to insure the one dog we have (which is due next week and shot up by 50%), we're both too old for run of the mill type jobs like shelf stacking and bar work (or at least locally anyway, they all want young people they can pay £1.50 a week less to do menial tasks). The only jobs appearing in papers are for exectuive jobs we're not qualified for or care workers or cleaners. I can't get any money help because my little charity vet job is self employed (I gave up one of the two afternoons to a friend because of my dream trainign job and would feel very guilty trying to take it back off her!).
The older I get the more difficult it is to compete with jobs that all the young ones seem to suddenly walk into. Even on here I see people just be in the right place at the right time, but it never happens for me.I even get out there to try and get wind of jobs but they don't apear.
I write to local TP's time and time again, apply to any job I spot on the net nationally. It seems 90% of jobs just don't ever appear, or maybe there really aren't any trainee jobs out there other than the handful I spot.
Those hundreds of miles away mean I'd work for nothing with renting and petrol, and means I'd be away all the time from animals, hubby (no bad thing at the moment), and elderly disabled mother (which I do really worry about not being there for her). But even jobs far away don't seem to appear, or discount me because they want a local person.
Those that promise to keep me on file for a future job don't - an advert that appeared on here was just such a one, (I had interview when a job wasn't on offer and they wrote and said they liked me and would be in touch, shows they just bin stuff and get the next suitable CV in to add to their list of interviewees) and they never contacted me to ask if I was still interested....although I didn't spot it when it went up because I had a job a month ago!!
I am now certain I won't get the chance to train, so might as well give up.
It's alright keep saying try, try again but there's only so many knock backs and with so few jobs that appear/exist it's impossible to get to the top of a pile to even get an interview.
I had no sleep last night, still very upset today., don't even want to go into work.....

I have never felt so low in my life, and so close to giving up altogether,,,,

Re: well, that dream job didn't last long!

There was a trainee job on here in Orpington I will see if I can find the link

Re: well, that dream job didn't last long!

Bah.
