None of us could beleive it! If i remembered correctly it was secondary to some manky abdo masses and was euthed on the table..but still it was defo a GDV!

Also nearly had 6 GDV's at once! Had a woman leave her pantry door open so her just weaned litter of staffies could rip open a 20kg bag of dry food and proceed to eat the lot as fast as they could! Well as much as they could fit in their teeny stomachs that is!! They were all so bloated they were just heaped in a big pile on the floor groaning- rushed them down to us- a quick drop of Apo for all and it was vomit city in the prep room. Ive never seen so much food come out such small dogs it was amazing! Luckily none of them torsioned or that would have been a fun spot of saturday night surgery!

Re: Gastric Torsion in a Cavalier!

Hi Thats pretty unusual for sure, The nly small breed GDV ive seen was in a WHWT whihc had a Heartbase Tumour, became dyspnoic then airophagic causing the GDV.
