Not sure how they work them but did my practicals this morning and found out that thy used the same ones the whole weekend, but prob pot luck most of time, feel it went ok, was so nervous couldnt stop my hands from shaking, just the long wait now!!!!

I did tell them examiner things i did wrong but its realy worrying me about those grey shaded areas bcause im sure its an instant fil if you dont achieve it.If this is not the case then I would have done ok i think x

If you know you have done something wrong, you can let the examiner know and if there is time, rectify it (i.e breaking sterility during gowning/gloving or positioning the wrong limb for radiography). They will want to see if you can spot any errors you have made.

Try not to worry though. While not carrying out one of the shaded tasks does mean you won't pass that one, you need 5 out of the 8. We only ever remember what we think we've done badly at!

Hey all i did my practicals this morning and im really not sure what to think on how iv done!I know that I may have not got some grey areas in at least 2 of the tasks - i didnt put a cap over a sharp instrument for packaging for sterilisation, I worked out my calculation wrong on the anaesthesia task because it was the wrong circuit factor and I applied a bandage to the wrong leg. Plus im not sure on my fluid therapy calculation. That means we automatically fail if we dont get a grey area does it??x

Hi I had fluid therapy, insulin inj, lateral cystogram xray, hand washing (!!) bandage palmer, t-piece to set up and dipstick and sg, and open gloving and setting 10 instruments in the right boxes. I had mine on a sunday and the verifier said they had had all the microscopes and stuff out on fri and sat but we had none of them. Would like to think it was because it was a sun and all they had left were those I did which were not the really complex ones - but don't think it works like that!!!! just think it is luck of the draw - you can fail handwashing as much as any of the others. I passed but still did silly things in the exam - nerves!!! good luck and deep breaths!!!

mmmmmm, dont think it really works like that, you should learn them all and be confident with each one equally!!!!!!

I did the practicals in june and failed but im not neglecting to learn the tasks that i had to do back then because they may come up again
