You'll see it is now under the 'What's New' heading on the top menu.

I plan to restructure the home page a little so that headlines are displayed there too.

Doh - I am an eedjut. Hadn't realised I had set the new blog to require moderation, and Mrs Dot Dot had already done one too.

Oh dear, still noone to start the blog off!!

Would be great if someone did just one to ge the ball rolling, so I can put a permanent link on the front page of the site (don't want to do that whilst it's empty).

Does anyone think this is a BAD idea? Don't worry, I won't be offended. Would just be useful to know.

Well I like to buy nice pressies for my family and I can't afford to buy them all at once, so I stretch it out over the year. I have been known to buy Xmas pressies in the January sales!!

Well wasn't at work today, so I could blog that I went shopping, had lunch with my mum, spent far too much money on clothes I don't really need (did I say that out loud???) bought my daughter a bear that she didn't really need (actually it was a snow leopard, but who cares) raced home to get to swim training, had a fish supper then came on here......not very exciting but exhausting all the same!! Oh also bought 2 Christmas pressies, cos I like to be organised!!

Yes, it is an open blog of sorts (I think I will restrict to QVNs, at least initially), and I suppose you could say it is similar to a forum thread.

The difference is that where the forum is pretty 'free range', this is an 'official VetNurse newsfeed', with a tighter editorial remit and a permanent prominent presence on the site (unlike a forum thread, which once it 'dies' tends to disappear.)

I'll set it up now, and we'll see whether it works. If it goes well, I am planning a slight change to the home page of the site, so that your headlines, (along with those from Pete's new blog) appear there.

Yes, that's how I imagined it working.

The thing is that if more than one person contributes each day, each post will move off the top spot so fast that many people will never get the chance to read it!

We might also need to set a maximum number of posts per member per week, or someone could hog it.

I agree with Saskia, what if two people have interesting cases on the same day? I suppose one could be posted the next day though, you'd just have to get in there early!

Firstly, welcome to Pete I will look forward to his blogs

I think the idea of the new VN blog is a very good idea Arlo. Something we can all hopefully learn from each other.

The only thing is what if I come home from work, absolutely dying to share my thought of what happened that day, and someone has already posted for that day?

Just my opinion, but its a good idea
