A little update...

...it only been a week of having Poppy and our house is pretty calm. Giving Niamh space worked, but Poppy was determined to make a play mate and has been chasing Niamh so think she has won round Niamh. Few hisses and growls so not perfect yet only happen when Niamh is sleepy or tired so think maybe Poppy has too much energy for Niamh!! But so far everyone is happy!! Maybe not Luka when Poppy attack his tail hehe!! but so far so good! yay!!

as long as the presents they bring dont include my chickens and they leave the bee hive well alone I wont be too concerned

so we won round Luka. I held her under his nose so he could sniff her. He didnt say much jst a few growls but then he realsied that she has ears... his weakness lol! He loves Niamhs here would clean them all day if she would allow! Since getting bigger she lets him do it less and less. Anyways He licked Poppys ear a bit made a funny growling purring noise... he is deaf don't think he realises how silly he sounds.... although the noise did annoy Poppy, she let him lick her ears.... he ran away from her in the end but its a start and am classing it as win!! Now how to convince Niamh!!

well, i need patience i guess! something i lack! But well am covered in scratches from an angry upset little girl who doesn't understand why mummy got a new kitten!!

But i know she will love her... eventually! She been comming closer to Poppy which is good, and she got the room door open to where poppy was when we were out and she didnt touch her just sat where she could see her!!

Niamh now not eating, she just seems to becomming more and more distant! Bless! But the livng room is hers Poppy isn't allowed in there unless I am there so Niamh knows this is her "safe area".

Just wish it be as simple as when Luka met Niamh... love at first sight! lol!

p.s sure they will love the country sal! Bring you some nice "Presents" no doubt!

Jasper and Morris (both adult cats) took about 3 months before they would tollerate each other in close contact (both indoor cats). We had 2 feliways plugged in. By 6 months they were both 'the partners in crime'. We still get the odd spat which is usually over food or a certain chair but other than that they are now ok.

Stocking up on feliway again at the moment - we move house in 2 weeks - hope the boys will enjoy being country cats?

mmmm have to admit im more of a dog person but feliway should help. I think if your careful if you get them in trouble coz you dont want to make them scared of you.

make sure they have safe places to go and plenty of space, have you looked on the FAB website they often have good advice on situations
