Hi Vicky, the plan was to get it finished sometime this month, however money is a bit tighter than expected so gonna have to save up to get the final bit done, the good thing is it doesnt look too odd the way it is now!!!!!

thought I would update you all on my frogs!!!!

Unfortunately I have lost 2 of my usa greens (think it was old age)

So my current frog list is:

6 Whites tree frogs Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch ( 2 males and 4 females)

3 usa greens...still un named

2 blue dart frogs

2 bumblebee dart frogs

2 red eye tree frogs (picked up last week) Splat and Splot....pics of these guys will go in the gallery soon!!!!

Next stage of the tattoo is up in the gallery, next (and hopefully last) siiting is 2 weeks on tuesday just in time for my birthday and BVNA. I wimped out after an hour and a half this time but have got 3 hours booked for next time as we want it finished....may just have a break partway through...hope it doesn't take that long tho!

I think out of my whites Titch is my fave cos she goes mental when it comes to feeding time and has often jumped out onto my hand to get to it!!!

Yeah my mates cat knocked the tank over once and the spider was under the dining room table! EEkkk! I was worried because they lived 3 doors down from us and I was scared that somehow it would get into my house lol

My friends ex had a trantula and when they split up she was getting things together to move out and her cat decided to knock its tank over. Now we both hate spiders!!!! So he came home to a bit of a nasty surprise!!!

LOL Button, I heat my vivs with a 100w bulb, it all depends on how warm the room is where you keep them and you have to keep humidity right as well.

You can get kricket keepers where you can store your cricks and then just knock them out of tubes into the viv. I do get escapee crickets occasionally but they do eventually die, generally death by cat in my place!!!!

I'm with you on the cricket front Button My day at college cleaning and feeding the reptiles wasn't the best day of my life...SOOO many crickets to be fed to things! The monkeys LOVED them though, ripped their heads off!

Ooooh - do you have to heat the tank at all? I'm thinking that you wouldn't after reading up on them but I'm not 100% sure so thought I'd ask as you obviously know what you're doing.

It's just the cricket thing totally freaks me out. God, you should of seen me and my friend at work trying to feed a patient crickets....! Hilarious. I was screaming and running round afterwards as they give me the creeps - makes my back go all funny. ARGHHH. (and I didn't even touch any either).

Don't they get loose around your house? Yuck.

Oh little froggies, why can't you just eat leafs or something

Thanks. I'm definitely looking in to it a bit more. There's just one trouble really..... I absolutely hate insects with a passion. Would totally freak me out. So maybe not a good idea

Rubbish - I'm gutted as I didn't really think about the whole feeding part! The thought of having them in my house - ick!

hey button,

they aren't really that expensive to look after, it is the set up that can be quite pricey but once you have that then you only have to buy the food.

for starter frogs i would go for american green tree frogs or whites tree frogs, the americans are cheaper but the whites have a bit more character.

for either of these for 2 frogs I would go for a 45 x 45 x 60 (wxdxh) exo terra, these retail about 75 pounds but there is a website netpets that do things much cheaper and I think they do that size for about £55 with free delivery, then there is plants/substrate and water dish, plants I tend to use the silk ones and 2 large ones will do that size viv (about £10 each) the substrate is prob the cheapest I use an eco earth type which I get from my local reptile shope which is about £3 per block which would do that size set up, then there is the water bowl which i use the med exo water bowl as it has a few steps (tree frogs dont swim and can easily drown!) this is about £8 from my local shop

The american greens vary in price but they are about £11 each so your initial set up would be about£100 there abouts. you need to feed them crickets which vary in price but are generally between £1.50 to £2.00 a tub, when I had my solitary american I was usuing 1 tub every 2-3 weeks of medium crickets.
