I find it very odd why any doctor would prescribe propofol to help someone sleep...yeah ok you're having a problem sleeping so we'll just anaesthetise you, no worries!!!

i had propofol when i was in hospital for an op. it does give an ace sleep, but i was knackered for days after too!! dunno how he could have got up if he was having it every night!!

I had propofol as my induction when I had vents put in my ears a while back. I woke up talking rubbish to the anaesthesist about the dose rate of it in dogs lol!!

Allegedly in America, or at least some states, it is legal for several doctors to treat the same patient without reading clinical history....it is unbeknown to me how more people aren't overdosed this way and why on earth they do it?!

Maybe one of the Americans on here might be able to shed some light??

Does it work differently in people to animals? I mean, wouldn't you just have a short nap after it and then wake up as soon as it wore off unless maintained, or is that what all the other crap was for that they listed on the news?

It was being used regularly to treat his insomnia! Does that mean he had a permanent i/v catheter in? Or just loads of needle marks? Or perhaps he drank it?!!!!!

Did you see the news this morning? They're finally saying it was homicide... you'd think it was quite obvious that you can't really inject yourself with propofol cos you'd be asleep before you finished lol!

hmmm they will probably find the doctor and charge him with something just to shut people up!! Makes no sense to give him it evn if he has insomia or low energy level!! Try some sleeping pills to get some sleep or some red bull to boost those energy levels! a bit safer than propofol... clearlyl!!
