Agree with the strange. I was going to ask the all wrong thing at the cpd, that q was on the list. As to strange... yup 100% totally balls up but l guess experts designed it.

No they never send anything through apart from the acknowledgement they just apparently add it to your points l asked last time l spoke to them.

If you don't have the sqp number handy over the phone don't worry you are on their computer l had the same problem. Kath just made a note you will need to send in the £15 check or card but the booking form is here Kath said they need money upfront but l am on the list, thats what counts.

I am going from muddy manchester. Hub said easier for me to go up to Penrith on the m6 then across the m66

Spud if that is the one at scots corner 16th september l will see you there let me know if you are on it. Where are you going from? l have to leave about 5:30-6am to get there for 10am apparentluy oh god l am so happy.

I made sure l was on it by ringing kath who is in charge of training as she said places were going fast, her details are in the link below look for the contacts - she is under training

You will need to up your points to 30 for companion animal but it varys for each module so if not a c double check.

Click on here and choose either the module that you have and / or the general modules and you get 1 point for each section to take you upto the 30points. I have done a load so in theory l should have about 10 points but l want to double check they mean each module l get a point for and not each section. If it is section l only have about 3 points but there is time to sort that out.

If you wanted you can do the modules in the over the counter magazine that you are sent just that l find online easier it is just click and send as opposed to envelopes and post yadda yadda.

On the online section it will give you a choice of saying vetnurse sqp or companion sqp kath told me it makes no difference so long as they have your number.

we got an exam type thing but the tutor went through the answers with us as like a class discussion.

at the end we got a 'how was the course survey' we all rated it bad and they admitted that it was the first time they had taught it at that college and I hope things have changed by now. It was a shame for them but the questions I had asked were not answered by the time I left!

i sent off ofr the next cpd day in yorkshire somewere will i have to get the other points before the end of this yr or before end of 2011?

The first lot as they are still getting sorted is by theory 2011 but l am taking it as 2010 cause l do not trust them. You can do some by books self cert (from what l understand and again do not trust) and 5 points by the q & a points and you have to do 1 day course which at the moment gives 26 points

You can do the q and a points by the over the counter magazine which you should get or do it online at their training section the cpd days are there as well. Each section online is one point.

And they are not to generous with the cpd days for your letter either so be careful putting off until a better venue comes along it probably won't appear.

If you go to any cpd that says it is amtra redg. make sure you let amtra know you are going FIRST or it wont count and they wont retroactivate your points. Not that that counts at the moment as there is no one who is offering amtra cpd other than OTC although various drugs companies are talking about it.

you will need 30points/year.

I am guessing that training day was the day you can do before you sit your exam.

i travelled 250 miles to the training day where we were told to read our notes and have knowledge b4 we went down, I studied and when I got there the tutor read the notes which id already studied!

felt it was a waste of time

my employer wont pay renew fee so it has now lapsed!

yup £30/year thing is as l am paying all my own costs not the practice if it lapses it will then be 200 to renew and another exam if for some reason l have to have it.
I have done the online cpd. I have done the reading but now have to go to the day which is compulsory.Only good thing is for this set up year it will cover me till 2011 renew date.

I confess I cancelled my SQP status for the same reason, and the huge annual fee as well. All that work and stress for nothing!
