It took a couple of months of tube feeding and he had several surgery sessions to wire his jaw and try to put it back into place. There was a lot of drool during this process and he had to have his face bathed twice a day!! His jaw never properly went back to normal, but he eventually went home and managed to figure out a new way to eat. He came in for his booster a few weeks ago and his mum told us they've moved to a house in the countryside away from busy roads. He's loving going out hunting in the fields and has even managed to catch a pigeon!!

There were times when we all questioned whether we were doing the right thing as it took a lot of time and perseverance but it paid off eventually!!

Re: Cats tongues

We once had a rabbit that lost its tongue and he lived a long and happy life. The only problem with him was he drooled a lot so we made him a pair of dungarees to stop his skin from becoming sore. He looked really cool in the, - proper Benjamin Bunny!!

Re: Cats tongues

I cant imagine any animal or human would be able to cope without a tongue though, doesnt it help with swallowing? I did assist with surgery on a cat before though that had part of his tongue removed and done ok, not sure though if its possible to remove a whole tongue!

Re: Cats tongues

only seen it in cases which were pts anyway
