After 5 days of my flu like symptoms not moving i resorted to baileys & brandy mix it curdles but yay i feel better & can taste today & drink

thats the thing am sure the doc said!! i get every few months ahh!!! its horrible and hurts like hell!!! Lucky i have lempsips, paracetomol and ibruprofen on hand don't go to docs anymore just don't see point!

Had my tonsils out when l was 2 and the problem you are after is called pharyngitis l suffered from that terribly. If it is any consolation once you hit about 40 you find it comes about 1 or 2 times a year as opposed to multiXXXXXXX a year.

It is horrid l agree. I must be due a dose not had any for about a year and l have been on tenderhooks as have been getting a sore throat in the evening. Often a sign it is building up

I've had tonsilitis quite a few times but doctors won't take them out (grrrr) I found sucking ice lollys really helps. Hope you feel better soon! I had to have a week off work last year with it and I was not a happy bunny!

i got mine removed when i was 4 cos i always had it! Was meant to mean being ill less ofcourse it didnt!! You can get somethin really similar to tonsilitus even when there removed but can't mind what my doctor called it!!

When I last had flu going around Europe was nasty I could barely move in Paris needing a seat every so often. Never felt so old!! been fine since but am expecting it am never well for more than a month!! such a shockin immune system lol!!

I get tonsilitis all the time currently on the waiting list for them to be removed so have nothing but sympathy for you. I find that even though it sounds really horrible and cruel eating dry toast does really help even through it hurts like hell to start with, the more you eat the easier it becomes trust me. I also find that i swear by lempsip flu strength drunk when as hot as you can manage offers relief for at least an hr also i'm bad and take neurofen at the same time it helps you sleep.

Hope you feel better soon the first three days are normally the worse

Oh and gargle with salt water it helps great as an old hand at bad throats in the past. About 1tsp of salt in a pint of warm water do not need to gargle the whole pint though but it helps.

2 teaspoons of cider apple vinegar, 2 teaspoons of honey top up with hot water. Great for bad throats especially.

last time i got flu was on our holiday to paris I took two paracetomol and 2 ibruprofen every 4 hours, even thought it says only 6 a day i think for ibruprofen... made me feel a lil better but it took the two weeks of going around europe to finally get rid of it and i was fine when i got back grr!!!

Anyways Other than that a nice hot bath loads of bubbles, loads of tea and stay in bed

My tonsils are almost the same size as my head lol its difficult and bloody painful swallowing

Im a terrible patient im feeling very very sorry for myself x
