I think it is a fantastic idea, look forward to using it. The amount of paperwork involved is rediculous altho i think a lot more needs to be done to improve the amount of repetition involved with doing the portfolio.

Cool, cant wait to get my new student enrolled so I can give it a go. And no more crappy paperwork and filling in a hundred different pieces of paper only to find out they have been lost!!!!!

Various NVQs use e~portolios. There are various systems in place to manage them but basically the work is either typed up as normal (or scanned on to a comp, or up loaded in the case of Proff discussions, videos etc) then kind of emailed to the assessor (one system uses a home page type thing. the work is uploaded & you just hit a big blue button Send to assessor to send it. it then turns up on the assessors homepage) the assessoer assesses it, can add questions, comments etc & send it back. All the evidence traking sheets are on the home page & you tick the PCs you have met & it is attaced to or imprinted on the evidence. the system keeps a record of progress & can tell you what PCs you need to do still. They are generally brill. no more forgetting the portfolio or lossing evidence in someones in tray ! But the managment system has a lot to do with how easy it is

I had a chat with one of my IV's from CAW today and they haven't had the training yet so couldnt tell me much, assume that it is all stilll in the pipeline and more info is coming soon??!!
