This is 'Spike' owned by Matthew, named because of the little tuft of hair on top of his head and yes, he is sitting on my knee while I use the laptop

When my sister got three chickens two of them were named by her sons...the names changed a few times in the first few days! Lucy is a good duck name

'bolt' and 'spike' have been changed by my sons to 'tom' and 'garfield' though that could change many times until they have finally decided on names lol

anyway, I have decided to call 'my duck' Lucy

thats all I do then stick the pic in a file. I am on O2 and get free texts every month, so it doesnt cost me anything - I think a picture message = 3 texts. If you email them from your phone it will cost

I usually transfer pics from phone by doing the following

send as a picture message to email and then add to picture file

yesterday was a very happy day in the life of SaskiaVN - she finally got her beloved ducks

They are absolutely gorgeous, 5 weeks old and all black and white, though they have their markings so we can tell them apart.

Cant post photos yet as cant seem to upload them to computer from phone for some reason - may enlist help of Caro for that one.

Anyway, we dont know what sex they are - yet, but my sons have claimed one each and have named them 'Spike' (owned by Matthew) & 'Bolt' (owned by Phillip).

So, my predicament is, I need a name for my little friend

bad husband lolol!!

I have 2 greyhounds, 1 lurcher, 1 terrier, and Rosie my pointer. I also have 1 rabbit and 2 goats and 3 cats!! My children are very good though and help to feed them sometimes but that normally ends in more work for me!!

We have a lot of space here as our house is in a big field (courtesy of my dad) and my ducks will be coming along soon.

My only problem now is holding off after I get the ducks as I have developed a real affection for toy poodles at the moment!! But I must hold off for a while. I also want a labrador lol!! They have to be rescued ones of course as all my pets are!!

I'd love some too, but I agree with you, I think it'd be too much cleaning, even with nappies they stink at the best of times!!

plus my husband won't let me add to our menagerie of 8 animals!

Now, running free in the garden with the rabbit I could do easily.......... but to let my ducks (when I get them hehe) into the house.............omg...........I can just imagine it, at bedtime, it would be one duck with Phillip, my 6 year old, one duck with Matthew, my 3 year old and Mmmmmm.......I wonder where the other one would be.............

Sounds lovely in theory, but the cleaning would be terrible and I can just imagine the boys going to school and telling everyone about it lolol!!!

A girl I used to work with's friend had one, it used to run free in the garden with her rabbit!
She had an old tub bath on the lawn with a little wooden ladder for it to get in & out!!

Also, a client in work has one in the house!! She gets little nappies off the internet for it to stop it messing in the house!

I am not sure Nick don't forget l was in Africa so not sure if it was imported and like many species adapted and bred or a cross breed or what but he (just felt it was a he) was sweet...... when he wasn't eating my guinea pigs
