hey guys

Spoke to the girls at work today about their graduation! The graduation for the Dip HE CVN (myerscough one) takes place at the college with mortar boards and gowns, you only get a certificate for this and once you've completed the Dip AVN disitation you get the blue badge and certificate.

Hi Sazzle,

I studied for my DipAVN in general practice and although a busy practice with lots of cases, I benefited loads from going to 'see practice' at a local referral centre once a fortnight. Sounds like you are in a supportive work environment, which is great and also you will have uni support.....you will do great!

That is very true really....plus we do get good amount of ortho's (which i prefer) inc tplo/ex fix's and asif plus we have physio and pool wih special rehab vet to speak to. We do send some of our referrals to you (i think its you anyway...NWS?) My vet-mentor said he could ask to allow me to 'see practice' there for a few days to get a bit more of an insight...but dunno if this is possible at all...hmmm will have to see what he does about it all..

Hi Sazzle, As far as I am aware, once you complet the Dip He clinical vet nursing at myerscough, you then go onto completing another module,which means doing an extended essay for your Dip avn, once you complete this you get the blue badge, and I would imagine you would go to RCVS for this.

At the end of the day you get 2 diplomas for completing the whole thing.Your Dip HE CVN, and your Dip AVN, you can choose to stop at the Dip HE CVN and not complete the AVN though.

i personally think you guys are in a better position than myself! At least you have uni backup etc... am sure you'll be fine. and you can send in case reports/essays prior to hand in date to ensure they are well written.

Referral is good, but think GP is maybe better cos you'll have a broader range of cases

Must say im rather scared of doing dipavn actually....everyone ive spoken to who is doing it, is at referrals and hospitals etc...Im just at little 1st opinion tier 2 practice.....sob....hope i get thru it ok Otherwise will let practice down....and now GRAN! EEEEEEEEEEEEK

Graduation would be held at Myerscough. the girls at work have not completed the disitation yet so unsure if there is a seperate graduation for that

You go to graduation. You will get a badge once you've vompleted the disitation for the RCVS DipAVN but unsure about the Myerscough part of the diploma if that makes sense. can ask the girls at work who have recently passed
