It was a Veterinary nurse service as already said. No vets (, I think it was things like nail clips, grooming, dietry advice, etc etc. Maybe put in a search on the website for it?

At our practice, there is an older lady who is an ex VN. she now runs her own business as a pet taxi service (pets to vets). She can go in and even box up cats for older people and then brings them to the vets. She waits with them (even goes into consults with some people) and then gets them home. Depending on your area and whats around already, its quite a good service to offer i think! You could even combine it with the other things already mentioned.

Good luck

Re: Advice on VN oportunities outside practice!!!!

cheers for your replies, that is such a good idea. What sort of things would a community vn be able to do do you think? and i dont suppose you have any ideas on where i would get more info, re regulations, insurances etc etc.

Cheers

I haven't got an answer sorry :/ I've heard that VNs have set up their own hydrotherapy sessions in their garages!!

I suppose it boils down to what you want to do. I can't see how weight advice, flea Tx adv would fall foul of the RCVS. What about setting up a VN with a van!!? You would have to sort your taxes out but you could be a community VN? I like this idea that much I wnat to do it myself!! :)
