I hadn't realised that Tru Blood is also available in a readable form!!! i haven't been tempted to read Dexter for the sme reasons - however would agree that Bones has made a good programme and I ws reading kathy Reichs years before it was televised and they have done a good if different job of that. Another failure for me would be the serialisation of Elizabeth George's brilliant novels (Inspector Lynley) which i was looking forward to as i think the books are superb but the televisation was just pants for me ! I also hadn't realised that Wire in the Blood started life as a novel - so much education for this time in the morning!!!

All this talk of reading has me itching to go to Watersotnes/Amazon!! - i may also read Sookie once the series has finished and will definately go on the hunt for Wire in the Blood - brilliant but dexter is still my current all time fave and series 4 is just around the corner!!!

Re: Tru Blood

[quote user="Kiahanna"]

I hate it. Its complete and utter rubbish when you compare them with the books. The director of this TV series has either never read the books or simply thought his limited brain power was equal to Charlaine Harris's brilliance...

I really was sad to see what a mess they made of it :(

I try never to compare books to the tv series I take them as individual entities (ooo big word for my on a tues evening!!!) I agree Charlaine Harris is an excellent author (although never read any sookie books so far, sometimes I dont like reading 2 different series from the same author cos 1 series might disappoint me!!) The wire in the blood series and bones are 2 programmes and book sets that are the same.

In fact Bones is extremely different to the books by Kathy Reichs and this is with the lady herself being an exec producer on the show.....Temperence brennan the lead character is the only constant and even then it is like she is in a parallel universe to the character in the books they are so different! However it doesnt stop me from liking both in their own right.

I may read the Sookie series once the tv series has finished

Re: Tru Blood

It isnt on virgin catchup l looked all over let me know if you find it in the mean time l am headed to the freebe site ta ST
