This career demands a lot. There are rewards in return but it&amp;#39;s no easy job, in fact it&amp;#39;s not a job, it&amp;#39;s a lifesty;e. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You need to be practical and dynamic to survive and thrive in vet nursing. If you like to switch off when you clock off then it&amp;#39;s the wrong career but if you want to work hard, make a difference, dry tears, kick some ass, clean up shit, learn something new nearly every day, feel proud, help animals AND people then it&amp;#39;s a fabulous career. I love this job. I started my training later than the average VN student at 27 years old. &lt;p&gt;Afternoon, discharge patients, clean prep/theatre/dental room/ kennels, wash all kits and sterilise, wash scrubs,trolley drapes etc sterilise, medicate inpatients, admit some more inpatients ( oh we are up to 10 now....lotta work!), work out drugs and drip rates, write up sheets for night nurse, assist any vet that looks lost( a lot do lol), drag ass home walk the dogs make the tea, hoover, wash dishes, get uniform ready for tomorrow, .................. and then go to bed..usually about midnight, and up again at 7 to start again&lt;/p&gt;
