When used repeatedly (once daily) in cats, increased Heinz body production, slowed re coveries, anorexia, lethargy, malaise, and diarrhea have been noted. Heinz body formation is due to oxidative injury to RBC’s and has been documented in cats with other phenolic compounds as well. Consecutive use in dogs appears to be safe.

Re: Anaesthetic ineffective

Dragging this from the very back of my mind - I recall being told at some CPD meeting that you shouldn't used propofol within 2 days of each for cats but can't remember why!! Not heard of any problems with triple though!

Re: Anaesthetic ineffective

seen it in a rabbit that comes in for a dental, nut this is every few months! Have usually used propofol the second time round with the vets I have worked with because of this. We had a cat with an horrendous degloving /open hock dislocation and we only used 1 triple per week, the rest was rapi. Have seen a cat spay come in for resuture the next day because the owner wouldnt use the buster collar and the triple was just not effective the second time around.

Re: Anaesthetic ineffective

Oh god that sounds awful.
