We moved from a very busy practice to a new purpose build, since moving we have some quiet days where there can be as little as 3 ops. I find these days EXTREMELY boring abd generally work better under a bit of stress.

Re: Quiet days

we have been quiet for ages too, and then had a mad few days - KNACKERED!!! lol!

But if its quiet more often than not, then you could use the time to come up with things to make things busier. Rather than cleaning things which are already clean etc etc - you could plan puppy parties if you like that sort of thing like Vicky C sugested above, or promotions etc?? there is usually things like pet smile month, microchip month etc just around the corner which you could plan for - depends on what you boss thinks though i guess.

We've been getting a lot of days like that! Only op today was a guinea pig spay with cystic ovaries (they we're huge, one almost as big as my fist!!) & one inpatient which didn't need much nursing care so not much to do with it. I has suited me fine though, has given me time to work on setting up puppy parties!

Re: Quiet days

We seem to be going through a period of having NO ops or inpatients, But fully booked morning and afternoon appointments!

Re: Quiet days

Quiet days, god we had one today

All we had in was loads of in patients from the weekend and one small lump removal in. One day we will be rushed off our feet and the following day we will be dead quiet. Thou when it is great gives me a chance to type up some of my portfolio work or do the insurance paperwork.
