I still live at home with mum and dad and I pay £100 towards bills and then food on top.

£100 is very reasonable especially as she won't be paying rent, as for £10 a week that is a complete joke!

Just read this, even as a student I wouldnt insult any of my family with the tenner a week offer. 100 quid a month is great! If shes still sulkin 2 days on then maybe you should take her on to gumtree and show her what people in the real world are paying!!! my rent is 200 a month plus bills so either shes acting lyk a spoilt brat or she is just tryin 2 pull a fast 1 by keeping all her money for goin back to uni!

Yea right. I used to pay my folks £30 when I was a teenager well over 10 years ago!

Just can't believe how unreasonable she's being. She's been sulking all afternoon/evening now. "Poor little me"

I was paying my uncles £40 a week 9 yrs ago to stay at theres when I was on minimum wage, I also bought my fair share of the food. (and prior to that 25 a week to my parents!!!!!)

I would tell her to like it or lump it def!!!!!

Thanks guys. Just can't believe she's been crying about it. And saying she couldn't afford it. Don't understand as she'll be making more than me a month. I think it's really ungrateful.

Then again, must be difficult if you're used to having eeeeeeeverything land in your lap all the time.....

Thanks. That's what I thought. She's in our spare room which has a full wardrobe and chest of drawers in it but she hasn't got hardly any stuff anyway as it's all away at her uni house. But we're not asking for money for rent because of this - we just want money for the cost of living here. If she pays any less then we all contributing to her staying here which we can't afford.

Really stressed out

Button I have rented rooms off several friends in the past and both times paid £300 pcm plus my share of the phone bill. THink you should point this out to her! If you rented the room to someone else you could get three times the amount she is being charged so yeah it is a great offer she is gettin
