Yup one roll of softban whick has gone up to my knee so spread thinly and one crepe over the top ditto knee ditto thin. l told her she could splint it, put a thick padded support on but no way was she potting me. So to my mind if l do not have a big support and it took her so long it can not be a major problem.

So long as l am sensible but l recon these crutches are the biggest danger.

Re: I am Leaving!

well at least you know now it is a fracture - and its up to you how you treat it!

bandage = velwrap, ortho band, or soff ban ???

Chances are the nurse didnt put a bigger bandage on because she knew you wouldnt let her - awkward bugger

Re: I am Leaving!

Just back went 7am so l didn'nt have to wait. Nurse Prac was very pleasant think she thought l was weird dunno why.She did get worried about lack of circulation in my toes on her first check but when l told her l am always cold and she saw the state of my other foot she believed me

Anyhow 2 pics later she said there was no obvious # would need to check closer but all my movement tests seemed to point to twisted ankle. She went off and came back about 15mins later as l was dozing off to tell me l had a tiny little hairline # she had to look really hard for.

FIne l told her strap it you are NOT potting it.
But you need a plaster
Nope l need a bandage you can dress it l have a life to lead, l helped put up 3 marques on saturday, and stumbled, hobbled and crawled round a campsite on sunday so forget the pot.
Well l have to put it on your record you refused
And?
Ok ok (eyes raised to heaven) You need to attend the #clinic they will send you a letter (well thats will never arrive we are talking royal mail) and use crutches strict rest and keep you leg up in the air.
No probs l am back at the campsite on wednesday so has a couple of days then we have july braai so l have work to do then back to work proper.
Eyes to heaven from her and deeper sigh>.. take ibuprofen and don't overdo it.

Post dressing with a wrap of one roll of cotton wool stuff which dammed if l can think of the name despite using tons of the stuff you know thin fake stuff on a roll what is it called damm someone ???? and one wrap of bandage a comment from her that well at least l now had one foot of warm toes, a pair of crutches and l went to wait for up in wheelchair.

The chair was comfier out of it and crutches l walked to car without them they are dangerous!. Will have to work out how to use them.

So reason says if it was that bad they would have done a bigger, propper support with splint or other dressing not what l have so not to face my mum sighsss.

Re: I am Leaving!

But l don't want nor can l afford plaster (l can not be off sick and no not want a leg of sodding uncomfy plaster) l will punch them if they try and if they splint it l will probably cut it off so l can drive. So B said in that case what the use oh FFS why is life so bloody complicated

And then it will be weeks to sort and l refuse to go of sick.

Re: I am Leaving!

Have a great time xxx

Re: I am Leaving!

Listen to Aunty Sal - GET IT CHECKED , if you get it checked now you have the chance of 3 days doing the right thing , thats a whole 3 days for it to settle down.
Saturday morning l decided to do heavy work as opposed to the paperwork. We loaded the van with all sorts and the 3 big marques.
Go to the party field and l held wibs while l got out the van. next thing Tony said l yelped and folded he said was staring in shock as l was trying to save Wibs and dissapeaded from view he ran round. My foot went straight into a hole hidden by grass. I lay for about 10mins things swirling and feeling sick made him move my ankle so l could "know" it wasn't broken. Don't ask where the logic is l was to sore to think.

They dropped me back at the cabin to do paperwork and my foot swelled lovely. I missed walking the marquee over we left up post pots l was looking foraward to that. later on l managed to hobel to party field and helped put up the other 3 marques getting in loads of trouble for not resting. But l felt guilty not working. that afternoon back to do paperwork and then back to join hub at the van (he got back from parachute center)

Sunday just sat and talked to friends and took it easy. The lads were building the bar and paperwork done a lot of work has been pre done the others went home today and we are meeting back wednesday to get things sorted for early arrivals.

Spoke to Sal who said about getting an x-ray but held off will see how things go, l am borrowing my dads walking stick tomorrow to help me and just ice packing it. What a start to july braai week can not belive it

Re: I am Leaving!

You'll be back soon enough - I bet you're missing us already!!

Re: I am Leaving!

Signing out and running awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy>>>>>>>>>>>................................................ yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: I am Leaving!

heh, I'm actually looking forward to going to SA in december.
