Growing up our neigbour was a hell of a distance away but at the top of a hill. I would say several hundred yards away over the other side of a road behind our house. They would play classical music so loud at any time of day and night you couldn't hear yourself think.

Yet they complained about our dog barking to the council and he did not bark that much would have the occasional fight with the neighbour dog. We would grab Patches and get him into the house.The neighbours would do the same with Charley.

My folks had a big meeting and wouldn't let me go. I was almost under chain and lock because l was going to rip their throat out. They had a huge wall and gates kept firmaly locked if l could l would have got in anytime and totally vandalised the place l loathed them.

My folks said when they arrived the music had been on and took ages for the neighbours to open the door as they couldnt hear the buzzer. Had it been me l would have walked in and smashed their stereo they would have known l had arrived. My folks refused to let me do a counter complaint for noise against them.

I do know that other neighbours also disliked the couple and their noise but were again to polite to do anything about it.

Thats what I was worried about being seen as an annoying neighbour but they turned it off themselves at 9ish so didnt have to be an annoying neighbour also means i can open my window now!

my neighbor is a total noise freak. If we raise our voice in the bedroom after 9 he complains by posting notes thro the door the next day. Hard to take him seriously really. He also chapped the door at 10pm one night because our cat was miaowing loudly (hes deaf and is quite loud but wht can you do) The guy does have a cheek though, he plays his music from 6 till 8 most nights of the week so loud that we end up having too shout to talk to each other. We told him once and he ignored us. When we called the police to say they said the noise inforcement team would be round, told them not to bother in end! Grown used to it now!!

Sal don't know how you do it! I would be on edge all the time and would never want to go home!! :(

nobody says a word - just acts like nothing happened. It used to really upset me - but now I just keep my head down and pretend I am not in.

jeeze sal I dont think I could cope with that would be a shaking mess the whole time! do they say anything to you after the events?

I live in the middle flat of 3. - a few nights ago one of the flats had a drugs raid (nothing new there - I can almost set my watch by the police arriving). Today was carnival day on the estate - did I go? no because this big bloke (and I mean big) was holding upstairs neighbour by his throat pushed up against my front door trying to throttle him for selling him 'bad s***'. And where were the police - you guessed it at the carnival day! Difficult situation, couldnt telephone on landline because I would have been heard through the paper thin walls and everybody would know who had made the call - and I would quite like to live a bit longer! Ended up texting a friend to call the police annoymously and by the time they got there was all over and everybody denied there had been a problem ('just a misunderstanding - couple of lads larking about' - yeah right)

it was absolutely horrid!!! there were peeps running up and down the stairs most of the time!!! I was shouting my mouth off big style! went to work for a break lol

They have but they havent had a party since we moved in 2yrs ago so i kind of thought that i might be being unfair if i asked too early

from the sounds of it they've annoyed you ALL day!

I used to live in a block of three flats (middle one) and our upstiars neighbour had a party lasting 48hrs!!!! he left the main door on the latch so that his friend could come and go me and my neighbours kept locking it. We kept asking him to turn the music off as we had jobs to do! Landlord wasnt interested said we had to deal with it ourselves! The longest 48hrs of my life!!!!

Everytime I hear that Special D song it puts me on edge!!!!!

me personally would give it till 9pm then go ask politely to ask them to quieten it down a bit at the end of the day its sunday evening/night people have work in the morning, hopefully they will take a hint
