Well I live about 5 minutes away so give me a shout & I'll come up & say hi! I love the wheel, we're there nearly every weekend with the dogs & child. I love watching it rotate, its soooo graceful! Like I said if you want a bed, you're more than welcome!

I stayed on the shores of loch ness last year in a chalet type place. Was lovely to wake up and look over the loch! Between Inverness and Drumnadrochit. Place just outside Lochend. Lovely week away from everything!

Midges on the West coast are evil but if you come to the East we don't get any and we tend to have less rain :) Borders are lovely, lots of good walks by the sea etc, from Manchester to Kelso area you are looking at about 4.5-5 hours (M6 onto A7 then across at Galashields to either A68 or further to Kelso, depends where you want to go! Musselburgh, Ediburgh and Midlothian/East Lothian are all really nice too...I am however possibly a tad biased! If you think you may want to come this way I can ask around for dog friendly places.

If you want to go a bit further north, Stirling direction and just a bit north will take you into the Highlands which are fantastic, but probably a 6-7 hour drive dependant on where exactly you are coming from. Whatever you do dont go anywhere near the M1 or A1M to come up here. I regularly drive from Edinburgh to Derbyshire and it is quicker to go across country to the M6 and back again than it is to use that route!

We visited here the rock and crystals museum it is a fantastic place well reccomend it for a visit.Oh and we just got a tourist map one of the free give aways you get at motorway services. We stopped at the services going towards Penrith "westmorland" l think it is called fantastic services anyhow l digress we drove up the west coast had a really nice time just wish it was for more than 2 days
