I jumped on a trampoline, not a good idea with a dodgy back anyways and i suddenly felt a horrible sharp pain as if summin 'snapped' and collapsed on the floor. went to bed ok and woke up in agony and hurt to breathe, bend over and stretch. I survived in pain for a week on heat pads and muscular rubs and ibuprofen until i went to the doctors to be told id pulled muscles in my lower back and also pulled many intercostal muscles, which explained why it hurt to bend forwards and cough and sneeze, etc. I got prescribed 30mg codeine phosphate tabs 4 times a day, lovely stuff haha.

Try deep freeze, it did help me for a while, i also used a TENS machine for a little while as well, seemed to help me.

Re: My Back

Thats bad. Back pain is one of my worst as it hinders just about everything, even sleeping sometimes in my case. Maybe get it checked out in case you have done some serious damage? I hope you start feeling better soon. Thats my only worry with this job - physical injury. I would prefer to get killed at the *** end of a horse rather than be injured for life :S

The funny thing is... well perhaps its not funny but i find it amusing... i am doing my EVN via the UK so we cover LOADS of health and safety stuff and i really mean it is drilled into us like crazy. All sorts of stuff from working with horses to working with water buckets and yet over here in SA practice they dont care. Even working with my vet now has raised loads of questions regarding my own safety. When i tell him what we are being taught regarding personal safety he laughs at me :(

Sorry arb thoughts coming out at this time of the morning.

Re: My Back

so long as that cat isnt Morris - but seriously take care

Re: My Back

Thanks will be rethinking my lifting for the forseeable future... cat

I don't know what they are called over there, we have one called 'Rapi-Gel' and all these old farmers and blokes come in for it, for dicky knees.
