The salt content would be high though - but again, high enough to cause trouble as a one off? Sometimes with anorexic animals you will try anything to stimulate their appetite. What do other people use? I read somewhere that brewers yeast sprinkled over food was good, but I've never put it to the test. Good old sardines in tomato sauce is a favourite with us (always makes me hungry too!)

pedigree milky bones are ok - but did break a tooth on them

pet tabs are nice

oxbow recovery for rabbits is fantastic - I used to make post op packs out of the big tubs and there was always this little bit left in the bottom. Was always a dead giveaway though because I used to end up with green between my teeth so everybody knew what I had been up to!

Kaopectate remember one of my old bosses telling me to take this because of a dodgy tum - but we also used to make up 50ml bottles of panacur too and I got the wrong one

There are appitiser sprays that you can buy that you spray onto animals food which increase the smell and are more like an oil. We had some samples sent to work in fish/chicken/beef flavour, can't remember that company though!

Re: Gravy?

i've never really thought about it either....hmmmmm
