Can I just add to this thread that I'm on holiday and my garden is finished so there has been lots of lazing around, with a bottle of factor 50 in one hand and a glass or Pimms / wine / long vodka in the other!!! BLISSSSSS

just a little tip if you are wearing scrubs - those blue freezer packs that you get in picnic boxes fit perfectly into scrubs pockets and those little white plastic ones that come in the idexx order are very good too. Anybody who knows me will tell you I used to hog all the freezer packs in the summer, esp if I was scrubbed in on a long ortho op. one in each back pocket and one in each side of my bra - bliss

We clocked a temp of 29c in our theatre today late afternoon - it was horrible!I was on last op so autoclav had been on three times already and you could barely move- my scrubs were sticking to me lol!Minging!

Temp in Devon is reading 26 according to my car thermometer. A light breeze too, so its quite pleasant.

What temperatures are you getting? Is absolutley teeming down here! But we earnt it after weeks of 40 degree + days over our Summer...and our bushfires. Treated a wombat that had survived for four months in the bush after the fires the other day...Sorry off topic!

We have air conditioning in one consult room which the vets hog and in the prep room but we cant use this as its where we recover ou ga patients

I have been in an airless shed helping my other half shear sheep today, he shears them and I roll the wool and pack the wool for sending to the wool board. Pretty greasy, hot,sweaty stinky work!

It is so sticky and horrible. Even Henry my pooch is vomitting cant put it down to anything elese other than being too hot. He is otherwise happy as always and wanting to eat my hand off. I cant even walk him as its too hot most off the day.

Have just spent a blisteringly hot day from 8am to 5pm painting walls. The flies have loved it - one wall looks like a fly cemetry! Estate agent arrived half an hour late which was good because the washer decided to flood, and after spending about 2k getting trees taken down, various repairs, getting the garden done the verdict was ..... valuation of 52k. I am gutted . In January before any work was done , the place was valued at 80k! and that was with brambles about 10ft high wall to wall in the back garden and 11 70ft tall conifers in the front garden which have all now been removed. It was so hot that I couldnt bear to touch the glass in the front window and the tarmac on the road outside has all melted and loads of creosote has run out of the telegraph pole on the corner (sadly the estate agent had tar on his shoes when he left which he then trailed onto the cream lambskin mats inside his jaguar (shame )

When I got home my two beloved kitty creatures had obviously got fed up of waiting for their evening meal and had partaken (messily )of the contents of the bin - well Morris definitely had not sure about Jasper? (he has better taste). Having satisfied their immediate hunger pangs they were both crashed out in front of the fan - until I sat down and then we started the 'I am starving, you are a bad bad owner, feed me!! - the room service in this joint is crap!' routine

its been a very bad day!

We have air con in most of the building just not in theatre so its lovely and sweaty whilst scrubbed up, gowned and gloved under the theatre lights! I wear scrubs most of the time in this hot weather

We've all started wearing the vets' scrubs this week as we were all dying in our lovely thick polyester/nylon uniforms too. It helps but it's just so gross dripping with sweat every time you do anything! I love hot weather but only when the sun's out, not when it's grey and thundery and just plain humid!
