That does seem to be the case. I struggled not to cry while Bess was pts, could feel tears pricking my eyes. I have Jack at work with me now though, mum and dad have gone out so dropped him in to me. He's very good at cheering my up! He's 'helping' me do my jobs! Funnily enough my jobs get done quicker when he's not here following me around

Well it never rains, it pours. A long term client is bringing her dog in this morning to be pts. A little old CKCS with heart condition (no surprise there) & other problems. The owners have decided it's got too much for her. Will be very sad, nice dog and nice people.

I really do like the fact we can put animals out of their misery, it's such a good thing to be able to do.

I'm feeling better now, the tears have dried up for now x

Aww Vicky, hope you're ok x

We had a really old greyhound in on Thursday that really needed to be pts. I sat with him in his kennel for a while just stroking him, hoping that he would just fall asleep.

Luckily at the end of the day it was decided that his owners would let him go.

I will def tell them all about them both. I have a lovely picture of them together which was taken by the Echo, they did an article about them & how they met, it was arranged as a surprise for their anniversary. My nan had Italian parents who moved to Enlgand, my grandad was born & lived in Italy. He was a prisoner of war over here & after the war was given the choice to go home or stay here & get a job. So he stayed here to earn money to send home (he came from a poor family with lots of children). He worked in Hovis flour mill, that's where he met my nan. He went through some horrible times during the war, but didn't speak about it to many people, probably because he didn't want to upset us.

It is very difficult for me right now but thats all I am going to say as I wont take over your thread.

I am sure you still miss your nan, thats only normal. What you said about your great grandparents not meeting your children when you have them is the exact same thing I said about my brother.

You do what I done - tell your children all about your nan and help keep her memory alive in them, thats what I have done with my boys xxxxxx

aw Vicky, what a dreadful ordeal for you.

As said earlier, she will have been so grateful to have had you by her side. It is best for her that she is now gone.

Things are triggering me off so easily still, it's was only about 2 months ago i lost my nan...yet i still get moments where i don't really feel she's gone. Her flat is going up for sale soon, it will be odd when that's sold, will probably make it all feel more real. It makes me feel sad to know that my children, when i have them, will never get to meet their great nan & great grandad. They were such lovely people who loved children, & my grandad loved animals too.

I have just been on Rainbow bridge and me and my wee girl are sitting here in floods of tears after reading some of the poems

sounds to me like you were a huge comfort to her when she needed it. Im sorry to hear it bought back such horrid memories for you, hope you are feeling better now.
