Thankyou both. That's put my mind at ease. When requesting a new bag recently I asked if they could omit my surname but was made to feel like I was being awkward ... and weird, because as a professional nurse in the public eye then I should show my full name. I shall stick to my guns and if it comes with my full name I shall have a strategically placed sticker!!

I was going to say - I'm no expert on that, but I can't imagine there could be a regulation that demands you display your full name

In the world we live in today, if I worked in veterinary practice, I would not in a million years display my full name on a badge.

Hi,

I don't know of any regulations. In practice we used to have full name and qualifications but now we have gone for just the first name and qualifications. Personally, I think that this is better due to the unpleasantness that can arise in practice from some clients and the threats that we get of negative comments on social media.
