How can I prepare for this? Obviously there is plenty of info online but I want to hear from genuine people. Should I put together a short presentation? This is why I think VNs being PMs is tricky, as your VN nature never leaves you, eg if you are down a nurse of course you’d fill in and end up being the ping pong between staff.

So so sad, that practices often end up loosing their best teams because of just one higher up person.

RE: RVN to PM

i was at one point managing and also doing two days as and RVN in the same practice as we were so short staffed. i got fed up with being the ping pong ball in between two bosses that didn't sing from the same hymn sheet. Then one of the bosses retired son ill health and the new director had a way of treating employees that i didn't agree with, i left. Then 90% of their work force left.. many of us had been there for years!

RE: RVN to PM

So what kind of scenarios; angry client, upset employee are what I'm expecting and preparing for.

Did either of you have to do a second interview? If so what did it entail?

This is a lovely practice with pss and isfm gold and these are a major tick box for me. I've not worked there before so don't know how the shop floor runs. As a nurse though I appreciate what busy means.

Did you struggle to separate clinical/non clinical

Ben do you miss nursing? Selena is that why you went back to it?

I feel this is the perfect opportunity at the right time and don't want to fluff it.

Ive just started the L&M Dip with vmg

RE: RVN to PM

I went from RVN to PM and now back to RVN.

They make ask you about certain scenarios and how you might handle them.

Luckily i had a great group of nurses and we respected each other, my boss said that i shouldn't socialise with them but i managed to split work and friendship.

Expect to have all the problems head your way LOL, its tough but i enjoyed it and i understand the way the practice runs more so than the nurses now.

Good luck. I also did a leadership and management course

RE: RVN to PM

Hi, RVN to PM for almost 3 years, happy to be quizzed
