We were on a budget so picked our cruise, tour company and when to go very carefully. We went mid/end September which is just before the prices start to go up for peak season (Oct onwards as it cools and is slightly more bearable). If you go too much earlier than that, some of the cruise can be disrupted due to dams being shut. Also, if you pick one of the slightly smaller 2 star type boats rather than a big posh one with lots more choice of entertainment, it reduces the cost. We actually found it nicer anyway from the point of view that we got to know everyone on the boat whereas the more formal larger ones are less personal. Our cabin was clean but basic but as we spent most of our time either out sightseeing or sunbathing, wasn't a problem. Our tour guide was fantastic and we didn't have to dress up for dinner although there was entertainment each night plus a small bar and just one restaurant (the bigger ones often have a choice but cost more for the privelidge). We went with Kuoni as they have been doing long haul and that type of holiday for many years whereaswe found the companies who do mainly Europe with the odd cruise thrown in were more costly (at that time anyway). Happy holiday hunting

Re: [ip] T'egypt [H]

Im goin in sept.. to sharm el sheik 5* all inclusive...ive been before.. im not really the sight seeeing kinda person lol i like to do things n relax by da pool lol..

I went with my bf and we went to Sharm El Sheikh for 10 days all inclusive. We booked to stay at the Baron Palm Hotel but got moved to the Baron Resort which was next door and were given a nice room. We then had the run of both hotels and all the bars and restaurants. It worked out at £750 each but it was a 5* hotel and included everything so I didn't think it was to bad. We booked through lowcostholidays.com and they were £500 cheaper than Thomas Cook!

There is loads of stuff to do out there aswell! We went quad biking, parasailing and did loads of snorkelling. Was a really relaxing holiday and I will definately be going back!

Re: [ip] T'egypt [H]

It so happens l was reading the excellent tips here and loads of links they have a section on this page (someplace not sure have to look) on how to get really cheap holidays and brilliant hotels
