I qualified in 1994 and my badge pin broke years ago.
I looked into getting a new one but RCVS don’t engrave anymore.
The enamel has gone a bit funny as well. So it just sits on my drawing table.

Also used to wear mine on the lapel of my dress. Maybe if you took it to a shoe repair/ key cutters they might be able to help you with a new pin?

I would wear mine on the collar of my tunic. I never had any issues with it coming off, it had a really good pin clasp. Maybe newer badges don’t?

I don't wear my badge anymore in practice- it keeps falling off when I'm restraining patients I'm scared one day either I or may patient will be stabbed by the pin. Where do you all wear it such that it stays on? It would be nice to wear it again if I can figure out a way it would stay put!

I still wear my original badge, along with 2 colleagues. I might consider having a new "registered" badge if they were not so expensive.

I still wear my old badge, i am the only one in the practice that wears one, but i find it helps to show owners know i an not a vet.

Been the oldest in the practice that is a frequent assumption!

I still wear my original badge. I don’t really see any reason to change it. I know that I’m registered and so does my employer.

I qualified in 2000 so a LONG time ago.Its very similar except the new one says registered nurse at the bottom of the badge

I felt the same when the new badge came out. You are right it probably isn't even noticed by the owners.

Though the last places I worked I was mostly in and out of scrubs so my badge never made it onto me!!!

I agree, I don't think anyone really sees the difference, that's the public and staff. I still wear my old one as qualified in 2001. I do have a new one. I purchased it at the time when we moved from listed to registered. I don't think the quality of the the new badge is anywhere near as good my old one.

I wear my old one...I considered buying a new one but to be honest, it has never been an issue.

never wear it, I think mine is lost or in the bin! I certainly wasn't wasting money buying another

I still wear my old badge and so do the other nurses who qualified before the change was made. If the RCVS want us to wear the new style one, they should supply them FOC!

I was wearing my old style badge up until recently. I qualified in 2001 pre Register. Unfortunately, I lost it somewhere and have had to bite the bullet and replace it with the new ‘registered’ version.

I sadly lost mine whilst locuming several years ago and I didn’t want to get a new style badge, not alone having to pay for it!!

I only ever had one from 2010 when I qualified and this is the only one I use.

I am still using my old one. When I called the RCVS told me I would have to buy a new one.

I don't think they engrave them anyone so means my old badge does hold more sentimental value. It is also more of a rarity these days so love it even more,
