That is absolutely crazy!!! I may have treated myself to a holiday to the Maldives...wanted to go there all my life and now depart on the 26 April until the 05 May, it will at least be hot but may still rain :( but I'll be diving anyway! Have a fantastic birthday and what a treat it is to have this voucher too xx

I think this really could mark a bit of a new beginning.

Back in the day, when I first launched VetNurse, the place was heaving, and there'd be hundreds of new threads per day, often chats about nothing much (but they were fun).

Then facebook, twitter, whatsapp, linkedin, and all the rest arrived, and things got progressively quieter as everyone drifted off.

But of course all those other platforms have their limitations and problems, largely because they were not designed for information-sharing amongst professionals. Bad manners can be a huge problem on FB. Likewise the lack of provenance for information being shared - you often have no idea whether someone really knows what they are talking about.

We're all here now for one reason only, which is to help each other.

I wish you did! I mean, I would be really interested to know why the Q&A format has been less compelling for you.

For my part, I feel it makes the site far more purposeful and focused on the main agenda, which is helping each other.

More than anything, the financial incentive is to get you to subscribe to the daily / weekly digest: https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/p/questions, because I hope that when you get that email, it'll remind you to drop by (and either help answering other people's questions, or see if there have been interesting answers to things you would like to know the answer to, too.

Anyway, l'm so pleased to see my offer seems to be having an effect, starting to see some interesting new questions and helpful replies, which is GREAT!

I must admit since the format changed i haven't come on here as often as i used to, not quite sure why and I was one of the original oldies.

mind you if there is financial incentive i might log on more!

I have taken on clinical coach and two students at my current practice so might need some help.

Thank you! The community is not as busy as it once was, back in the day before Facebook, but I think there's now a bigger need for somewhere for professionals that is more accountable and transparent than other forms of social media.
