This has likely been asked before but my search proved fruitless
I am likely going to do some extra shift for Vets Now over the next few months & before I decide what shifts I wanted to know what the difference is between a

RE: Vets Now: What's the difference between a 'Back Shift' and a 'Night Shift'?

Hiya!

A night shift is a full night (typically 6/7pm to 8/9am) and a back shift is an evening shift (eg 7pm-12am). It will probably depend on the particular clinic and how it's staffed, but in the busier clinics at least (as long as they aren't short staffed) there will be a night vet and night nurse who are there for the whole shift, and then if they have a back vet/nurse, they will do those evening hours and act as the 'second' vet/nurse (or third, if they have 2 full night vets/nurses).

RE: Vets Now.. They're usually paid a little less as far as I can remember. Hope that makes sense.
