I see what you are saying , I just don't see it as being very fair

RE: exam resits
Shouldn't there be one pass mark for all?
I think it's more complicated than that. I agree that all students in the same cohort should do the same exams with the same pass mark. Unfortunately if the course specification has changed and this student is doing the exam with the following year/cohort then things may have rightly changed. Pass marks, grade boundaries are all agreed with RCVS and the awarding bodies as a whole, so the exam pass mark would have to be treated based on the route the student was taking.

Hypothetically C&G was always 65% but degree students 50%. I don't know with Vetskills. If lower pass mark acceptable for later cohorts, chances are some other assessment has been included that your student wouldn't have to do.

RE: exam resits

many thanks - onto it, will add more as I find out. I hoping its just a misunderstanding but isnt looking that way so far

RE: exam resits

I'd do as suggested and get collage to intervene. Ask for everything to be in writing or in a ZOOM / Teams meeting that you are all party too and is recorded. It may be a simple misunderstanding re the resit pass mark . . . .Get your practice principal onto it - Good luck !! - let us know how you get on !

(If its apprenticeship route there are other avenues like the ESFA complaints process and the IFA - but you usually have to exhaust the collages & Awarding body complaints & appeals system first - so get on to that too now)
