I only applied last year which is fairly recent and it was £10.80 per hour then! Not sure if it will increase in line with NMW increases but still not in line with current RVN salaries!

I applied years ago but didn't go ahead as needed reliable internet, which I didn't have at the time. The pay was less then but I was told the pay rate was as such due to us not having the extra expenses for travel etc. In hindsight now - what about the overheads at home? especially now - heating on more during the hours working from home, lighting, internet charges etc. I remember asking a colleque who worked for them and if you need a pee break you need to be sure a fellow call person is aware and can hold the fort for a bit.

Yes I was told I wasn’t suitable , but strange really as the initial chat was just an informal chat but was apparently the interview! Was told it was basically reading off crib sheets so how I wasn’t suitable with 30 years experience I’ll never know, anyway pay was awful !

I currently work as an RVN in the evenings helping to cover phone and inpatient care at a busy hospital. I was interested in picking up some more shifts overnight to bring in some more money. I have been qualified since 2010.

When I applied I got a reply within 5 minutes stating I didn’t have enough experience for the role?! I replied asking for feedback to improve my chances if I was to apply in the future and got no reply. Really weird! Based on the other replies on here i’m glad I didn’t waste my time!

Yeah I contacted them when first advertised and again was vague about a lot of information, asked them salary and days shifts just over £10 per hour (not much above minimum wage) and £13 per hour for nights and considered I was getting £14.50 days Currently I thought was rubbish but I was only looking at working from home role as going to university so wanted flexible time to fit around this and as soon as I mentioned that I never heard anything back even though they said they had various shifts available they told me but I thought not to even reply back was ignorant!!!

If anyone can remember the pay, I occasionally advertise phone triage roles for an independent vet group and it would be helpful to know if the pay we offer is competitive

I emailed as they are advertising, I was interested in doing adhoc/part time shifts but they weren't interested in that. Oh well, with the profession the way it is I thought vet nurses would be sought after even for a small job like that. No wonder they are always advertising

I can't remember, sorry. It was a good few years ago that I worked for them. I don't think it's anywhere near comparible to an RVNs wage

I worked for them in the past and didn't enjoy it,sorry! You have to follow a flow chart for triage and in my opinion it seemed like the purpose was so the ins companies could avoid clients claiming for ooh consults etc. I also had to deal with dogs trust calls to clients who had recently adopted a dog and again had set q's to ask which I found too rigid.

Some shifts were very quiet and most of the calls were people calling for a claims form who had pressed the wrong button whereas evening shifts were constant calls.

It may be great for some people but it wasn't something I enjoyed
