I now fear that I am burnt out for various reasons and need to temporarily (or even permanently) leave the veterinary world.en-USTelligent Community 10https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/thread/177822?ContentTypeID=1Sat, 30 Jul 2022 18:18:52 GMT1a0763ec-3885-442c-853e-6cef656dfec5:b82b9963-c5e4-4a19-a456-4620d68f1270jenni99<p>I&#39;ve got friends who -- do computer stuff (set up new IT systems in practices etc ) - do marketing, are Reps, lecture / teach (not always Vet stuff :) - one friend did a subsidised paid for human Nursing Degree top up and now does something to do with patient safety (can&#39;t put my finger on exactly what - but it doesn&#39;t involve nursing patients) work at charities doing education and basically marketing, microchipping, looking after clients getting their first Assistance dogs,&nbsp;2 friends who do Memorial art (one puts human ashes into&nbsp;paintings ) the other does ceramics with hair, ashes etc in. Approx 2 years ago I had enough of nursing and was bored, tried referral and missed client contact, packed that in had 8 weeks off. Got job as a trainee air traffic controller, then chickened out as i was scared I would fall asleep and crash the planes (daft I know), trained as driving examiner but ended up back in veterinary but i,m now In an independent practice which is lovely next to no bitching/backstabbing and toxic atsmosphere&nbsp; and its nice, still get a bit bored at times but as we are a small team at the branch practice we just get on with it and work together.</p> <p>Depends where your interests lie</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/thread/177746?ContentTypeID=1Thu, 12 May 2022 17:44:26 GMT1a0763ec-3885-442c-853e-6cef656dfec5:693a722a-3f25-4939-84a9-9d7a537c206aLucy Foster<p>I am guessing that you have absolutely made the decision to get out of veterinary practice?
