I currently work at CC in Scarborough, and it's a great place. I believe most practices are the same as ours - very up to date, great facilities, and very eager to train staff. We must be doing something right as we've new clients registering all the time!

The beauty of each branch having large corporate backing is that we can offer the clients great deals on treatment, like discounts on vaccinations and neutering. Definitely recommend us to your friend, they may be able to save some money!

Hi,

I worked for C.C Livingston for 5 years and can honestly say it was one of the best jobs I had. The staff there and at head office were great and I learned so much when I was a student nurse.

I considered joint venture with them back in 2004 but it just wasnt to be at that time.

There was a lot of bad press for them when they started out but I never once found it to be true.

I am working at cc Portsmouth at moment, and absolutely love it, they are very supportive to employees and offer great facilities for clients. The branches are, as others have said, all different, but I think support office try and ensure we are all of similar standards (and of cause we are very lovely, and friendly !)

I've just come back from 2 days CPD which involved all CC branches, and Hills... So it pays to be in a francise sometimes

Get your friend to try them out, hopefully they'll be just as nice as us

when i was locumming I was warned off CC and was told it was horrible - couldnt be further from the truth - I really enjoyed the locum, in fact was the best out of the bunch

I too have locumed in various CC clinics and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Am now working permanently for CC and have never been happier. Would definately recommend it. The head office are really supportive too which is a great help too.

I did my Uni placements at companion car in norwich and locumed at one in surrey. Staff again were lovely in both places. It is the cheaper end of vets prices. They have good facilities as they are purpose built and you get a 25% discount in pets at home. The only only problem I had with them were that they are in a warehouse type building with no windows so in the winter you arrive in the dark and leave in the dark. They are also open saturday and sundays for consults. Overall though i enjoyed working there!

I was employed by one CC and locumed for 2 others - all had great staff and were good places to work but as has already been said, depends which branch as are only as good as the people who run them, like with any other practice!

our local companion cares are all franchises.

Originally we sent clients from our low income clinic to there as an option, if it was out of hours, or for xrays etc which we don't have. They were also cheaper for consults and drugs etc, but recently they've increased their prices, and also we now have many clients returning to us because it seems their second consult and drugs fees are quite inflated. Also I do enquire for general surgical prices for clients if we can't provide the facility, and their prices are now no longer the cheapest in the area by any means.
I have heard both good and bad things about their weekend services. They are one of a few places open at weekends other than a vets now type emergency out of hours service), but I guess though it's the same as other places.
Try the place and see how it goes, just like any new practice people want to visit. I stay at the vet (small private three practice company) I've used for over 18 years, and he's probably the dearest in this area of Kent, but I totally trust him for emergencies or for major operations, so I continue to go there - even though he won't offer me a trainee place!

I did a locum in the huddersfield one a few years back - nice place to work, had everything you needed, friendly staff - in fact if they ever wanted me back .....

it does vary from branch to branch I used to work for them during my training before they did the whole joint venture thing, It def depends on the partners but as a whole the company is ok

This probably isnt much help....

I've heard they all differ branch to branch, work in a similar way to vets4pets (i.e franchise)

Think it depends what the individual practice is like. not much help though sorry x
