Thank you both :) Amazingly, I’m back home recuperating less than two days since having a whole load of bone removed from three vertebrae. So far, it looks like it has gone very well. I feel twenty years younger!

hope you are feeling better soon

our first emergency appointment yesterday - possible gdv , according to owner , bloated, crying in pain , unable to stand, trying to vomit but just froth . bounced into the waiting room, gave a massive fart which got rid of the evil spirits causing his guts ache and just about cleared the place. Vet talking to owner 'does he eat things he shouldn't?' oh no he's very good as a rule - as the dog chews through its lead the second time during consult and we retrieve the remains from its mouth. It's a labrador.

Last emergency of the day - I was play fighting with the dog last night and I have found this lump and I have been watching it and its got ever so big and she really is quite subdued and I think she is in pain (gee thanks for that so you wait until 6pm when we close to tell us). Came in - its a fat labrador with any number of fat lumps that clearly haven't grown to that size in the last 24 hrs. Again bounces in the door. Given an estimate to remove said lump and owner 'will think about it.

Writing from my hospital bed! (had an op on my spine yesterday). You’re reasonably warm on the genuine emergencies, but way out on the others!

my latest one ' Soz I know you are shut but what it is right love I got the kids a rabbit each from ....., they wanted a puppy but you know how it is right..... and the bank wouldn't give me a loan....... so anyway I got them a rabbit each..... and I don't want them, you know, breeding like rabbits..... so can you give me a price to get the bits done on a boy rabbit and girl rabbit and I'll book the cheapest.
